Do you get the 15% off on genzler stuff in the TB store? There's a "code" that says genzler and verellen are excluded, but nothing about whether the 15% for being a supporting member can be used on genzler.

Well, I just got a reply back from TB Store and it's really a manufacturer's restriction on discounting certain products. So, to me, the way they have things worded it's kind of misleading the buyer until checkout, then SURPRISE!!

UPDATE: I've been in contact with Paul (TB Store) and he is going to add an exclusion clause/items to the TOP NEWS advertisement.
But also amp carrying bags are bundled with amp purchase, so that still is good incentive to buy Genzler from the TB Store!

Looking for some advice, figured I'd come to the experts that may have relevant experience rather than start a thread.

So I've been out of the game for a while, and am looking to get myself back into some proper gear. At the moment I own a Streamliner 900, but no cabs. I'm just wondering if anyone else uses a STM 900 with two Genzler BA 12-3 cabs (drool), and if they've ever had issues putting that much power through them.

Any input is welcome and appreciated.

I'm 100% positive that a Streamliner thru 2 12-3 cabs would be great sounding and sufficiently loud for most any indoor venue (except maybe an arena) to fill. I used to run a Streamliner with two 8-ohm NV115s (in a previous life, meaning 5 years ago or so), and it was great, as was the Magellan 800 thru the same stack, divine sounding. Now, I run a Magellan thru 2 12-3s now (or, alternatively, a 410-3), and love that just a bit more (led me to sell my NVs). So I am ultra sure a Streamliner would play very well with 2 12-3s.

In case anyone was wondering, the MG800 does hardcore/metal pretty damn well. I could run it straight up, no issue, but I’ve come to love the Darkglass B7K.

I have the amp set mostly neutral, with a slight bump in the bass, and a little more in the low mids, slight cut in treble, with a slight touch of the modern contour, about 8-9 o’clock.

It’s thunderous, grindy glory with my ‘62 AVRI jazz tuned to C#

I have no doubt it will sound great and be plenty loud. I guess I'm just worried about running a 900 watt head through cabs at a combined rating of 700 watts. I know this is kind of silly, as I should be able to hear if I'm running things too hot and dial things back, but I worry anyway.

I'm actually more worried about running one cab at a time, as the Streamliner runs 500 watts at 8 ohms.

Just be mindful that you could do damage and adjust settings accordingly and you will be fine.

Name a resonably sized, 2 cabinet solution that can really take 900 watts RMS.
I dont' think there is one but many run a 1 kW into a 2x12 or less without issue.
Watch the low end and let your ears tell you when the cabinet is in trouble.
or
Use a smaller head and an effecient cabinet.

I play my Magellan 800 (400 watts into 8 ohms) with a single BA12-3 all of the time. One would suspect that the 800 watt Magellan is designed to go with 2 of the 350 watt BA12-3's. I also suspect that the difference in output of the Magellan vs. the Streamliner is less than the numbers might indicate. All of that said, I don't think you need to worry if you use common sense... Don't dime the amp. Don't push the low frequencies all of the way up and push the volume close to max. Pay attention to the rig... and I would not worry.

FWIW, I had a Shuttle 9.0 before my Magellan and played it through a single BA12-3. I think the shuttle was rated the same as the Streamliner. It felt and sounded less potent to me than the Magellan.

I would also agree with everyone's comments about the combination of the BA xabs and the Streamliner. I really dont see any concerns in a realworld playonf environment. All of the BA cabs are pretty conservatively rated for their power handling. Thanks for considering oir new gear.

I'm hoping to demo some Genzler stuff soon, but it's a bit of a trek to the only Ontario dealer, so it may be longer than I want before I can. Thanks again for the help!
