Since we're playing a little "I'll show you mine if you show me yours," here's mine...

If I'm using the wireless, that's first. Otherwise cable straight into the polytune.

I hate clip on tuners so for practice I have a different board and bought one of these at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0143H0W3U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It works fine. Basses always stay in tune anyway, right? ;)

Occurs to me that I have a lot more room on that board...uh oh...trouble brewing!!

@Discount Saint ---- I was thinking something similar. What bass are you using? You may want to go higher on Contour B and the Drive channel depending upon the output of your bass. All of this before any EQ changes. If using more Contour B, you also may want to kick up so Bass on the EQ. I think starting with the above changes and season to taste.

Thanks! I will experiment a bit tonight. Basses will be a Dingwall NG-3 and a Musicman Caprice .. I imagine if I use the Caprice on solo bridge pickup I can get something pretty P-like with that.

In the flavor of showing off yours, I'll show mine!! I'll have to admit, mine is not as big as some of the others. But does size really matter? :thumbsup:

My Tuner is not mounted because it has lone double duty at church where the pedal board stays at home.

Question: when do you use the Darkglass preamp? Is it always in your signal chain?

For the most part it’s always on. But, I’ve been using the Drive channel on my MG-800 as well. So, between my 2 basses I use live, I have 3 tones to choose from. I love the DG though and favor that a bit more!

I have a question about recording through the MG800. My band is starting on our first record, and we've been experimenting with different recording techniques. For some reason, my bass signal is always causing trouble with clipping at our recording interface, even with the volume very low. Not sure if there is any way around that - I've already switched it from Mic level to Line level, which helped, but it's still a bit of a tough balance.

The weird thing that happened last night is that I had switched my EQ from post to pre, and suddenly there was a massive volume increase, which I don't really understand at all. Is it normal for pre-EQ to be way louder than post? My EQ is not set anything wacky, and certainly nothing that should affect the volume to that degree.

So, you guys may recall the request I made about getting a chance to check out the 350 Combo and Jeff giving me that chance.

From my initial sound test the little combo is a monster!!! OMG!! How did they do that?

I'm going to spend some time comparing this combo with some other gear and then stacked on my BA12-3.

The acid test for me is next Friday at our gig, but so far, I can believe everything that has been said about this little BIG combo!!

The combo stacked on a 12-3 works very, very nicely... the two cabs get along quite well. And the head is amazing to the point that I do find myself thinking about selling my 800 sometimes. The 350 does everything I need... and then I think "what if..." and the thought of selling goes away ;)

@campbems Jeff only trusted me with the single 10-2 with the mounted 350 amp. :laugh:
So, far I've tried it as a lone unit, then stacked on my BA12-3, which I really like because it gives the 10-2 some bottom voicing and it really rounds out the tone. I have them setting on a small foot stool to get them off on my wood floor.

I'm really impressed, to say the least!!

Funny!!! I can't seem to find the return address, though! I wonder what happened to it??

:laugh: I feel you!!! But I still own the BA410-3 and need to power it when needed. However, had I owned the combo first, maybe I would have opted not to get the MG800 or BA410-3..... but that's a BIG maybe!
I do a lot of gigs with no FOH support, so I have to compensate for that and my MG800 with the BA410-3 is the COMPENSATOR!! :thumbsup:

That's all funny! I have two of the 10-2s and the mg350, and I'm pretty sure I won't need anything more. BUT, I'm not going to sell my 4x10 and power amp rig. It's peace of mind, or something. I don't know, it's like being prepared for the zombie apocalypse or something.
