And I don't go through the PA with the band I play with, so....

A PA support of some kind, yes, but there are a lot of churches without band FOH support with sound person! A lot!!
And I don't go through the PA with the band I play with, so....
I've played at a few Churches east of Toronto that had some pretty odd and small PA's. Had my MG800 barely set to 1/4 volume but worked very well.
I can relate to that with some of the smaller churches I’ve went to.
Honestly I’ve never used the volume set to more than 50-55% when using my 350 stack and always with a full loud band including keys, drummer, electric and Accoustic/electric guitar and a Pentecostal congregation lol.
My bandleader uses an old great-sounding GenzBenz Shenandoah amp for guitar and mic when we don't have a PA.
Seems to me the two Genzler Acoustic Arrays are Jeff's current incarnations of the Shenandoah series. I have not heard them but can't imagine they would be any less quality than the older Genz gear, given all the tech advancements since GB was shut down and what Jeff has accomplished with the Genzler products

So sorry I missed responding the other day. The Acoustic Array MINI is our smaller acoustic guitar amp. While the larger AA-PRO does crossover for some bass work, I don't recommend the smaller MINI for bass use, except for low practice use. BUT as a compact, small acoustic amp it us excellent for cafe use, guitar and vocals. Just got a great video from our Taiwan dealer with a player singing and playing using it in a 70 seat cafe. Excellent! I'll get it up of FB shortly.
So for those who are using the Magellan and the 12-3 arrays, did you demo it somewhere, or just buy online and try it? There do not seem to be many dealers, only one listed for all of New Jersey, and all the ones in NY/PA also seem to be small shops that don’t have much on hand. I have watched a lot of videos and love the sound, but not sure what I need personally. And of course, you always want to hear it with your own instrument.
I just bought mine sight unseen, ear unheard... but that didn’t feel too unusual to me coming from the boutique acoustic world where virtually every guitar purchase is like that. They simply aren’t available otherwise. So I did my research and jumped, feeling pretty comfortable and expecting that the worst that would happen is I’d pay return shipping.
Of course the other option is to call all of those dealers to discover if any have what you’re looking for and then make a road trip.

I've only tried three of the many basses I've ever owned before owning it! And none of my current bass rigs were pretested live with my bass. I basically (usually) go by the many reviews of others and take the leap of faith. Most dealers have a return policy, so you aren't really tied down to keep it.

@PaulS , understand where you're coming from. But I've been a Genz-Benz user for years before Jeff went out on his own. I knew the Magellan and the Bass Array cabs were going to sound good before they first came out a few years back. I was an early adopter, sight and sound unseen/unheard. And they have yet to disappoint.
Totally bought them sight-unseen. In fact, I believe Jeff has confirmed that I was the first person in Canada to own any Genzler gear, before there were any dealers here. Jeff had to send it to me himself
I hear the sadowsky store in NY uses them for demoing their basses - 2 birds with one stone if you ever consider a sadowsky...
Honestly there is such love for this gear in this chat lol I probably shouldn’t worry. The one guy in Jersey emailed me and said he had stock, but I have to make an appointment to see him. He is about 90 minutes away, so will see if I can do that. My 20 year old rig is finally dying and it’s time for something modern and lightweight. Thanks for all the responses
I demoed the 350 Combo along with a 12-3 cab. I was impressed but was still trying to decide if that was the rig I wanted or if I was going to have my dealer order an 800 head and a second 12-3 cab.
The Salesmen at the shop knew I was looking and immediately called me when an 800/2 12-3 rig came in on trade. I was on a mini, 4-day tour, and they held it for me with no money or credit card until I got back. That is why it pays to support your local stores.
