Genzler Amplification Club

I'm not offended just trying to educate those that are interested. So on the topic of digital transmission some of the same issues exist as in the analog domain. Attenuation of signal and interference. Now when talking about optical digital transmission the interference isn't as much of an issue but attenuation can be. Digital signals are expressed in square waves. What happens in that case is the square gets rounded off. This can lead to a "1" not reading as a "1" at the receiving end. Noise or corrupted signal can also cause a "0" to read as a "1". So while all the digital signals are simply made up of 1's and 0's, the receiving end ideally should receive the "1's" as "1's" and the "0's" as "0's". This is where cabling can come into play. I'm not saying there isn't a lot of snake oil out there, and yes I mean Monster Cable, but there are cable companies that make cable that works better even in the digital domain.
I won't get too far into it but there is also an issue of speed in digital cable that can make an audio difference as well.

Anywho, thanks for indulging me...
Good to hear that I’m not the only one who believes “Monster” cables is a lot of hype. There are better cable companies out there.

I once powered my BA410-3 and BA12-3 with my MG800 out of curiosity and the least of my worries was the 410 over powering the 12. I was more concerned with what damage could I be doing to my hearing, since I wasn't wearing any earplugs. To say that combination is loud is an understatement!!
I also tried that using my Magellan 800 set on 2.67 ohms with a GK NEO 410 (4 ohms) and NEO 112 (8 ohms) out of curiosity and that turned out way better than I had hoped. I also didn't worry about overpowering the 112 as I had to turn down due to the volume increase.

I've since used that several times with great success, so I can only imagine that the BA series 410 and 112 would work really well together.

@Jeff Genzler
I wish my GAS was cured with Genzler.
It will be once I add BA-10, a 210 a 210 SLT, a 410 another 12 Slt and Mg350 for smaller jobs and practice.......that should do it. thanks Jeff!

Well, I’ll tell you what....if those Genzler additions don’t cure your GAS, you are not curable!

Sh@tty place. Sh@tty pay. Sh@tty mood.

But this rig....Damn. Channel B with Contour B at noon. EQ flat.

**EDIT**: Ended up with a teensy Bass boost and a teensy lower mid cut (mid freq at about 9:00). Treble remained flat. And we ended early so my pay rate/hour went up a little and I got home a little earlier. SUCH a killer little rig. (I still maintained my grumpy-a@@ mood, though. I hate wasting a good ol' grumpy-a@@ mood.)

@Marty Forrer, I'm not running my 350 at that impedance option setting since I use only two 8 ohm cabinets with it, but my guess is that you won't hurt your 350 running it with the correct impedance option for the proper cabinets' ohm load.

I'm gonna run my Mag 350 at 2.67 ohms. Just scored another Barefaced One10 to go with the two I already have. I presume folks that are running their heads at 2.67 setting are not having any worries with overheating or thermal shutdown?
I think Jeff's been on here previously stating there are no worries running this way.
With a smidge of puddin' on the side too. Just "stay in your own lane, bro"

No issues to be concerned about. Thanks for using the MG-350.

Hey, so can I use a 1/4 inch speaker cable to connect the mag 350 to the ba 10-2? The cable goes into the cab easily but not into the head. It stops about half way in. Forgot my speakon cable....

I just tried to insert a 1/4 into the amp, but it was not an easy insertion so I didn't force it. Unless someone else has done this and comes forward I'm going to say only use Speakon with the amp and either Speakon or 1/4 with the 10-3 cabinet.

The cab is a Combo Jack that can accept a phone plug, the head is a Speakon only.
When unsure read the jack and it will be printed 1/4 Combo on it, if that is not written then they are not.
