@3rdcurve --- thanks for the question, and this deserves an honest answer ---- I have never been a fan of 15" cabs. In our GB days back in the mid 80's, we did start offering a 15" small cube and a few variations but those were never for my tastes. I think that is why in the early 90's we were among the first to transition to 12" based cab designs, etc.
When we developed the Bass Array design, many players were asking about a 15" version, and maybe I was dragging my feet on that.
BUT --- once we developed this cabinet design it really blew away all of the things I disliked about 15" designs.

So when we started combining various BA cab models, I thought I would naturally lean towards the BA15-3 SLT / BA210-3 SLT combination ----- which I do like very much. What really impressed me when using side x side, was the dual BA15-3 SLT stack.

To answer your question in more detail, yes, both stack options are very similar in output, I would say that the full depth of tone with the dual 15" stack is beyond impressive.
What you do get with the BA15-3 SLT / BA210-3 SLT stack is the depth of the 15" but there is much more low/mid - mid clarity from this combination which really does cut through in the live setting. I also think that the tone that @Joeykun gets in a couple of the video's he's put out is really enhanced but this combination of cabinets.

If your tonal needs were more in the dub tone or reggae realm I would lean towards the dual 15" stack.

Thanks @Jeff Genzler ! My tone is more on the bluesy side of rock, and I like a fat sound like Tommy Shannon on Texas flood. When using grit for certain songs I like a tone similar to what is on the new Black Keys Album. I’m thinking the 15 pair will be able to pull that off.

I'm going to say that with Texas Flood as a SVR Tribute band that bass tone would really be fat running with 2 pcs BA15-3 SLT and enjoy the bloom of the low end and the clarity that will fill the room. That's my recommendation. If that does not work for you. Call me.

While these are challenging times, and most shops are closed to customer traffic, some dealers are still able to do online business.
Our fulfillment warehouse in OH happens to also ship essential products so they remain open. We are able to drop ship dealer orders to their customers, or ship orders from our website.
We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy and keeps playing to sooth the mind as well.

With this lockdown going on I’ve got to spend plenty of time with my Genzler rig. Usually my gear sits at home and just gets used for the weekend gigs. I spent a little time with it when I bought it but over these past couple of weeks I’ve got to really dive in! I’ve been running my Sire v7 in passive mode favoring the bridge p/u and it’s been sounding killer! Going to try and get a recording up here in the next few days.
