Genzler Amplification Club

I’m putting my Nano board back together once I receive my Empress compressor. I’ll have an ST-300 tuner, my Rolls PM50s for my IEM’s, the Empress and I may bring back the Bass Big Muff. I’ll run from the Nano (mostly) to my REDDI as most of my playing is DI/IEM. But I can also use it in front of my MG350/12T-V combo. The Rolls is only “in the loop” when I’m using IEM’s.

I love the ease and control of IEM’s, but I do wish I had a few more gigs where I could use my combo. Maybe this summer.

Yeah, I bought my MG800 after ordering a Sushi Box FX Particle Accelerator. May not need it after all. But my tuner, comp, and chorus won't go anywhere. My OD search, as always, continues.
I don't use my b7k for distortion I use it more for the slight overdrive sound. I think I'm going to grab the Vintage though, I liked the VMT better than the b3k when I had my DG amp

I have so many good dirt pedals but my favs are my pike vulcan, shift line buzz v1, darkglass vintage microtubes and prob my blacksheep outlaw. This is with my Genzler rig or my Genz neo x rig. My IEM board is different.

After trying multiple pre/drive pedals in front of my MG800, I've settled on a simple chain of POLYTUNE --> KEELEY BASSIST --> DARKGLASS HARMONIC BOOSTER (new) --> BOSS BASS CHORUS.

I just picked up the Darkglass pre and I LOVE it. I feel like I can dial in exactly what I am looking for with it in combination with the MG800. It's small, doesn't break the bank and just makes the Magellan and BA cabs come alive. All of this fits nicely on a Pedaltrain Nano+ which is great and small. Any drive I need comes from the drive channel of the Magellan.

Speaking of pedals, I am looking for a nice small power supply. I've been using a TrueTone 1Spot wall wart thing but have been looking at the Cioks 5. Any advice on that? Are these things overkill or worth the money? I don't plan on using high drain digital pedals but sometimes add a wireless to the four above mentioned.

That pretty much describes my board. Using the Nano+ with a Poly --> Becos CompiQ --> DG Harmonic --> EH Bass Clone. Love the Cioks 5 - screws into the board, can vary voltage and never makes a sound. Then again, I can leave the board home and be just as comfortable running straight into the MG!

Other than the obvious 5 vs 4, what's the difference between the Cioks 5 and 4 other than the one port and $30? If I never needed more than 4 power ports is the 4 fine? Or are they different kinds of power supplies?

I use Outlaw Effects “Iron Horse”. It’s a tuner and power supply in one.

The 4 has way more current per port and more flexible voltage switching for all. It can also tether directly to the 7.

The DC 7 or Eventide Max is the king right now. Costs as much as one pedal, but worth it. Fits under most any board, same as the 4. The DC5 is a bit thicker and won't fit flush under some low boards.

I kinda bounce between mxr m80di and m87, Darkglass Harmonic Booster, and the clean of my b7k. But the benefits I was using the Booster for are already there in the M800. So that's gone, it'll stay in inventory for other use down the road. I'll keep the m87 and Hyperluminal for compression options and the b7k for cabsim and clean.

Been using less and less drive on the b7k and a tad more on the drive channel itself, its main use for me rn is a clean boost. Which order do you run your HL and b7k in? I've always gone HL first for a few years at this point.

@DingwallDingus
Hyperluminal->M87->Harmonic Booster (currently pulled)->B7KU-> M800 on blue channel and amber contour. I'm actually liking the M87 a little more for the cleans than the HL. I only have the compressors in right now I've been comparing them and trying to make them mimic each other and find where I like each of them for different styles of play. So far the HL I like using with the B7k. For clean and beautiful tones I like the M87 Into the Harmonic Booster. For that matter I think I'm going to pull out my LS2. toss the comps in front of it and have the HB on one channel and the B7k on the other, leave the M800 generally flat, slight roll off on treble tiny bump up on bass.
