Genzler Amplification Club

I believe this was 2009... The GBE1200 was my only amp until it was stolen at a bar and then eventually replaced with the MG800. I will never not have an amp that Jeff has made.

I was going through my emails and I have an exchange with him dating back to when I bought the amp in 2007, second hand off ebay, and was having issues with the footswitch. Even buying it used, he immediately offered to have me send it in and take a look at it free of charge, making me a customer for life. I can't believe that was 14 years ago...

Fast forward to today, no gigs, remote writing with my old band that is now spread out all over the country, and I'm still pissing the neighbors off.

I'm new to owning Genzler....but have been familiar with the Genzler/Genz Benz name for a long time. I traveled for several years with a christian ministry band and we always spent a good chunk of time doing events in Arizona back in the mid 90's. We would usually do several day events in convention centers and we always had a young guy run sound for us when we were in the Phoenix area. He asked if one night I would switch over to the Genz Benz 4X10 cab he had and I said sure. I had never heard of GB but I thought the cabinet sounded pretty good. It got my attention!

FF to the early 2000's and NAMM. I remember hearing the buzz about Genz Benz and their new Shuttle series of amps and cabs. I stopped by and gave them a listen....I was impressed but I wasn't looking for new gear at the time. I remember a few years later hanging with Doug Johns and listening to him play through one of the Shuttles and 4X10 cabs. Sounded killer! He really talked GB up too....and I couldn't blame him.

Move on to about 1.5 years ago and I was ready for a change in gear. The bass array cabs had my attention as well as the MG 800. I had a few other brands on the short list but the Genzler stuff (obviously) made the cut. Just does everything I need it to and makes me pumped to get out to the upcoming shows.

I am admittedly an Old School guy when it comes to Jeff's products, but have dipped my toes in the "new" waters. I will echo what @davedamage said, I too will never not have an amp or cab that Jeff has made! This is the current stable.

You folks make me feel like such a slacker. I’ve had my Shuttle 6.2-210T combo for ten years (or more?) and I’ve never felt the need to try anything else. It just works and sounds flawlessly. Every now and then I get the itch to try a Magellan and a BA cab but I’m perfectly happy with what I’ve got so... maybe someday. I do know if I ever do move on it will be to a Genzler.

That is the best combo they made. I would only go to something else if it ever quit working.
I had a Shuttle 6.0-12T for a long time. Also a great combo.
I asked Jeff for a vertical 210 in the MG line. He gave us the 12T-V which is a REALLY nice cab. I love mine with the MG350 head. I also think an MG210T-V would be an awesome cab with the mounting bracket for the MG350 on top.

I switched out my Mesa WD800 (an awesome head in it's own right) for this beauty. Full on Genzler now. This combination is probably all I need, but will eventually add another cab. Possibly another MG-112T-V, but I am holding out until the next round of new Genzler offerings is announced. This rig Rocks!

I just use an MG350 with my 12T-V and it's awesome. Can't imagine a gig needing more than 2 cabs. Would make a cool looking stack.

I used that same rig for years, occasionally adding the 112 if needed. I would still be happy using that and I'm even more happy using the Genzler gear. Great stuff!

The more I'm playing with this M800 the more I'm pulling pedals out of the chain... I'm so glad I grabbed this when the opportunity presented. That mid freq knob is such a game changer for me. I've had that on my bass for sometime but I don't like to adjust the onboard EQ, I prefer to only use pan and tone. I haven't used anything but passive mode since I got it.

I understand this but my Keeley bassist and pike vulcan will remain. :)

I kinda bounce between mxr m80di and m87, Darkglass Harmonic Booster, and the clean of my b7k. But the benefits I was using the Booster for are already there in the M800. So that's gone, it'll stay in inventory for other use down the road. I'll keep the m87 and Hyperluminal for compression options and the b7k for cabsim and clean.
