so how often do you feel you need the other 12-3? I have an opportunity to buy either one or to buy a pair, but the pair would really stretch my budget for getting a good head. You think 1 is loud enough for small clubs without pa support or med-large clubs with pa support but a loud band?

We are a fairly loud cover band and one cab is more than plenty with the MG800 for small clubs, with or without PA support. I break out the second cab only for open outdoor gigs or larger theater sized venues. Caveat…. Not knowing how hard your drummer hits or how many loud guitars your competing with?
I’d still say the one cab setup is pretty f’n sufficient in a small venue, regardless.

Try playing the cabinet on its side to see if you get a different result. Also, can you try it outside away from all the room rattles and buzzes? Have you checked for loose hardware?

It's more likely that the cause is simpler and less involved than a bad speaker.

Thank you AH! I moved the Combo outside, on the deck. The resonance buzz remains on E and A notes, and distortion happens at medium to high volumes. Plus, now I get to annoy my neighbor! I'm not hearing anything at or under the deck, and the sound of the resonant tones is the same as before. Putting the combo on its side didn't change anything. Looks great though!

It would be rare that it’s an amp failure - but things do happen I guess. If it is, I’m sure Jeff will se to it that it gets taken care of right away.

Following up on what @agedhorse said: I believe I read that the line array plugs in somewhere behind the grill...perhaps the plug isn't well seated. Or the fasteners holding the line array could be loose.

In any event, I use that combo a lot. There's no way the speaker should distort at those amp settings.

Right on. I had the same experience with my 350/10-2 combo. Pop the grill off, tighten the plug for the array and all screws, reassemble and you should be good to go.

Nothing loose under the grill, or under the array. No visible issues with the main speaker, looking at the front. No creases or rips.

Looks like I could take off the handle and look inside. And I could pull out the box that holds the Speakons.

Well, all the screws on the array and the mount point for the Array connector seemed tight, but I tightened them 1/4 turn anyway. I unplugged and re-plugged the array. The screws on the main speaker seemed tight to the touch, but I tightened them too.

The resonant buzz is gone! And the distortion problem is a lot better.

The screen is still off, but that seems to have a lot of dampening foam tape, all in good shape.

Tomorrow, I'll measure the SPL to see where distortion begins. And have a look inside from the connector plate and/or handle hole.

With a loud band - get the 2. Not only will it be louder - you’ll get better low end extension as well. I started with one and got a second as soon as I could afford it and it’s night and day difference.

Just posted a thread about this, probably should have just posted here. Looking at a Eden WT550 or a Genz 350 combo. Can the Genz get into Eden territory tonewise?

Yes, I own a Eden WT 550, and a few Genz Benz heads as well as a Genzler and as nice as Eden are Genz Benz can stack up to it

The only other amp I’d even consider is Bergantino. These two seem to be the innovators right now in my opinion. I’ve been using Genz Benz and Genzler gear for about as long as I can remember. It has never let me down.

I agree with you @SteveC. I was going to order a Genzler BA15 but no one seems to have paired it with a BA12 or single BA10 (not the 210). Or at no one answered. So I am ordering a Bergantino cabinet instead. I like both brands, fortunately.

A number of folks have had great luck pairing the BA12-3 and BA10-2. In fact, I am strongly considering adding a BA12-3 to my BA10-2s. I would think the BA15 and BA12 would sound great together. The BA15 with the BA10 would work sonically but could be a bit of a power mismatch.

Have you heard any Berg cabinets? Over the years I've heard or tried cab from the AE, CN, and HDN series. I haven't heard any NXTs yet. The Bergs are voiced quite differently than the Bass Arrays. To my ears, the Bergs aren't as strong in the lows and have a pronounced upper mid presence which gets too grindy for my taste. No doubt they're fine cabs but not for my tone goals.

I much prefer the smoother richer presentation of the Bass Arrays, and the dispersion is quite something. Anyway, just my opinion, and good luck to you!

I figured the solo BA10 might get lost a bit if paired with the BA15, but was hoping the BA12 and 15 would pair well. @RColie yes, probably best to be patient. Whatever I order would not be here until next week anyway! Impatience is how I ended up with a wonderful but extremely heavy Wayne Jones cabinet. Sounds good but it’s a total pain to move. Tried to sell locally but no one around here knows the name so it’s a hard sell. Need to learn my lesson! So I will put my wallet upstairs and sit on my hands.

Rob - @SteveC and I can share with you how much the 12T-V adds real punch and portability to a small set-up. The physical depth of the 12T-V is the first difference. I had someone at a recent gig tell me they loved the “richness” of the bass. Whoa! I never knew my playing could be described that way - but this audience member was listening to only the 350/12T-V with flatwounds.
One other idea is to give the 4 on the Floor a try. I’ve added it for “clean boost” at Drive #1 and it adds a lot to using just the 350/10-2.
I really wish I could justify a setup like @Joeykun but so far the small rig combos work just fine - and I rarely get past 10 o’clock.

I hear you on the 12T-V. I actually had both the BA10-2 and 12T-V at the same time. I went back and forth a number of times and ultimately chose the BA10-2 due to it's smoother presentation (although the 12T-V is no slouch). Not long after I sold the 12T-V I started missing it's low end and second-guessed myself. A pair of the 12T-Vs would have been great. I'm sure I'll be pleased with the BA10/BA12 combo, and who knows, maybe I'll migrate back to the 12T-V.

I've also been eyeing the 4 on the Floor since it came out. I might have to give that a try as well.

The good news...no wrong answer!

I'm one who has a single BA10 and a single BA12. They work very well together. The 12 does bring more to the party than the 10 but the 10 still adds its characteristic punch to the richness of the bigger cab. I expect the 12 + 15 would be analogous only deeper and richer. I've not played the 15. I expect the single 10 might get overwhelmed by the 15 but the punch would still be there.
