hello to all genzler lovers! I recently bought a magellan 350 since it was at a very good price (about $375, it's new), so I'm hoping it arrives home soon. But I have a question, how does this head behave with cabinets that are not genzler? I ask because most of the photos I see are almost always accompanied by a Genzler cabinet. I currently have two 12-inch ashdown cabinets (300 watts each (RM-112T-EVO II)), which together drive into 4 ohms. I hope to get a big surprise with this amp. Greetings from Chile.

I've paired the mg800 with a GK CX1x15. Sounded great to me, I was really digging it.

Many good combinations of head and cabs. My BA 15-3, as well as the whole BA series of cabs are game changers IMHO. I have a Mesa head because I have a history using Mesa heads. The choice between my D800+ and the MG 800 was so close and very difficult to make, I still plan to get the MG 800, I think it is that good.

I use the Magellan 350 and 800 with a pair of Aguilar GS112 cabinets and couldn’t be happier. They play very well with each other.

I think pairing Mesa heads with Genzler cabs makes perfect sense, or vice-versa, given the long history Andy and Jeff have together as Genz-Benz and with the current Genzler pedals. There is a lot of common design philosophy there.

I have Mesa D-350, WD-800 and TT-800 heads, love all three with my Subway 115, but would love to try them out with Bass Array cabs.

I use the MG800 head with two Baer ML112 cabs. A very nice pairing for an old-school vintage sound, IMO.

Mesa D-800+ into Genz 3x12 vertical stack. BA 12-3 on top of NeoX 212T. In 2020 loaded the 212 with nos oem NX2 Faitals. I leave the tweet off on the 212 and let the 12-3 carry the top end. IMO the rig sounds awesome. Over the years I've found the Genz cabs work well with any head I've hooked them up to and they never let me down. They respond so well to EQ and they love to eat. What more could you ask for?

Alas, UPS didn't deliver until late in the day, so I spent a little time last evening putting the cradle on the cab and mounting the head. The head ships in a sub-box inside the main cubical shipping carton. I didn't get to plug in and play until earlier this morning.

First impressions- I had never seen one of these combos before, and I had the same reactions that you current combo owners had when you first saw it- WOW. This thing is tiny! It's smaller than the Mesa D-350/Acme B-1 combination I have been using this year.

Then I plugged in the closest bass I had out, a Douglas violin bass (remember those? From Rondo Music?) with roundwounds, and started playing. Pic is below. Look at the amp, it's "smaller" than the body of the bass!

People have been saying and I've been reading that this amp (the original model, not the Series 2) has a big, big voice for its size. And this is a series 2 combo with the updated LaVoce drivers. I simply can't believe the amount of sound that comes out. Like all Bass Arrays, I'm sure, it has a perfectly balanced voice in all registers. The Douglas is an inexpensive but well-made bass, but the combo made it sound like a much pricier instrument. I played for a half hour, just running every kind of line and scale I could think of, all over the neck. I also tried a variety of settings of the two contour curves, and between them and the onboard balance and tone controls, I discovered a wide range of tonal variations. And the volume level it produced in my studio/office was impressive. I play most all my current gigs seated, and the array presented a beautiful sound at that ear level.

And the speakers aren't even broken in yet! It doesn't even sound like it needs to be broken in.

I feel that the new Series 2 combo is an incredible feat of design and engineering. I have accumulated a wall full of cabs and amps to get to this point, but the combo is going to be the best amplification for what I do musically that I've come across.

As I have time today, I'll plug in some of my other basses to see what the Genzler can do for them. I pride myself on writing well, or at least aspiring to, but in the case of this Genzler combo, I'm finding it a challenge to articulate how impressed I am. Well done, Jeff!

They are simply amazing. They seem to defy physics. I loved mine. I went to the MG112T-V cab as I wanted a little different (more "old school") tone and something a little more vertical. The MG350 is a killer little amp mounted to of either of those cabs for a ridiculous combo that is loud, light and sounds amazing.

Thank you, Greg! I'm loving the combo. I hooked up my Ibanez Aerium fretless and just finished playing for a while. It never sounded so good. The BA-10-2 cabinet is so accurate and punchy.

I'm gonna get the BA-10-2 extension cab at some point soon, also through @RocketMusic!
