NC112T, NC212T, NC210T.
Haven't gotten to the NC115T, but I am very pleased and content with the 212.

Guess I've overlooked the NC212T since it's only 600 watts instead of 800, but if the tone is golden and it has enough headroom that's what matters. Voicing and timbre of the drivers makes the cab and can't be fixed with EQ if it's off. Someone on this thread purchase a NC212T/NC115T stack for his son which would be awesome. From Nate's demo, the tone on that NC115T is killer.

Yes, it sounds terrific on his video. Everyone listen to that with headphones if you haven't already.

I'm looking into purchasing a pair of Genzler 1x12 cabinets - considering either the Nu Classic 112, or the Magellan MG112T-V.

I play mostly J-style 4 & 5 strings with round wounds. Classic soul, funk, rock, and modern blues styles. No effects.

Has anyone on this thread had an opportunity to try out both the Nu Classic 112 AND the MG112T-V cabinets - especially if done side-by-side?

If so - could you describe the tonal delivery of each cabinet, and summarize the differences between the two (including the schlep factor)?
Also - can you let me know which cab may be more appropriate IYO for the styles and instruments I play.

Only considering these 2 particular lightweight Genzler 1x12 cabs - so info on other models or speaker sizes/configurations won't be of much help in this case.

2). My wife and I share a wall between her office and my studio/office. To minimize disruption - should the cabs be on the shared wall facing away or opposite facing towards or perpendicular to any concerns? If on the shared wall, will an extra 6” from wall make much difference? How about some throw pillows in between? Other? I would only run one cab on low if she was in there working (2x a week).

I would think you would want it off the ground to minimize coupling, at ear level so you don’t have to turn it up as high, and high passed as high as you can take it. Those low frequencies are the ones that travel through walls the most.

I have both although I have the NC 212 so I can’t help you in the schlep department. Tone wise though, I find the Mg 112 T-V to be a bit more transparent with a bit more in the hi mids. I use a pair for funk, and more modern music. I choose the NC 212 for more old school blues, country or classic rock. Both cabs have great punch but I think the MG 112’s cut through the mix a bit better probably due to the high mids. Can’t go wrong either way. The MG’ s are so easy to carry it’s almost unfair but again, I haven’t carried the NC 112 so I can’t really speak on that. I’ve played the crap out of the MG’s in very loud mixes for about 3 years and they haven’t broken a sweat.

I've had the Genzler re/Q for several months now but I think I used it for the second time last night. I ran the MG800 flat with contour A set at 9 o' clock. I used the HPF and LPF filters to remove the deep lows and extreme highs. I ended up giving the low knob on the pedal a slight boost and the high knob just a slight cut. I really like the effect from the low knob. Gives the low end some good punch but doesn't make it boomy. I need to get the pedal out at home and run through it some more but I definitely need to make it a point to pull it out on the gigs and add it to the mix.

I am in a similar situation. I am looking for a great sounding 112 speaker (monitor) with FOH support AND for small gigs (jazz, funk, pop).

Looking at 112TV. Nu112. Mesa SW 112. Trying to keep it lightweight with big sound. Playing thru a Mesa head. Opinions? I’m done carrying big heavy boxes. Sorry. (Not sorry)

I've got a Genzler Magellen 350 powering a 10-2 and 12-3. I've been using it for guitar and bass for a few years.

I hope it's ok to post to this thread. I can't think of a better place to ask.

I used to have a Marshall DSL40C that I sold a few years ago when I sold my Gibson 335.

I've now got a Strat, Les Paul, and PRS Vela added to my 3 bass guitars and I'm wondering if I should get a PRS HDRX 20 head to feed the Genzler 10-2 for the guitars, or do I get one of the new modelling pedals to get Marshall (or other amp signatures) tones out of my existing amp setup.

I'm a tech professional in my day job, and I'm sure like most of you, it's a fun hobby. I'm not gigging, so this is just for my personal and immediate family/friends entertainment.

I DO like tube character. But if I can get that through a pedal instead of a whole new amp, I'm intrigued.

The types of music I'm wanting to eventually mimic are Peter Green, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny A., Zeppelin, Hendrix, ZZ Top, and probably some alt rock groups.

I've got a Strymon Flint on the list to add Reverb and Tremolo to the guitar feed.

So, PRS HDRX 20? Or amp modelling pedal? (Which one if so...)

(I'm blessed or cursed with golden ears depending on your viewpoint, and can hear obvious "fakery" going on in electronics. But if it's super good, that's fine.)

Well, I tried to play my Engl Ironball (small 20w tube guitar amp) through my Magellan 12-3 cab. For clean stuff it is allright, didn't sound better or worse than through my dedicated guitar cab (Mesa Rectifier 2x12).
But anything in harder rock or metal distortion territory sounded like a can of angry bees. I really can not recommend these cabs for this application with electric guitars!

was not disappointed .
no PA support , but the amp and cab performed nicely !!
i have upcoming gigs where i'll be using my BA210-3 cab with the BA15-3 ,

I would think that an HX stomp would work well. You can play around with cab blocks/IRs/EQ to get it to sound the way you want through the BA cabs, which you’d have limited ability with a regular amp.
