Love this scaled down multi driver setup.
BA12-3 SLT and BA110-2 with Magellan 800. The lows are big but less overwhelming than the BA15-3 at lower volume, and the single 10 adds a lot of punch and upper mids clarity to the mix. The 2.5 inch speakers actually extend a little bit higher than the threes as well. I need to do some comparison with my single BA210-3 SLT.
Really sounds great with both electric and upright. I was trying to get a decent photo with the rig but the photographer didn’t realize I also have a head oopsView attachment 4864684

I really really liked the sound of that setup when I was using it! I thought the 12-3 had plenty of low end and actually balanced out really nicely with the 10-2. Only reason I’m not still using that setup is I needed just a tad more volume.

I may do this setup with a new BA-10-2 S2 combo on top. It's good to hear that you like the 10 and 12 together.

(Sod - the Mesa 115 is not going anywhere. What a wonderful cab, and I appreciate you selling it to me!)

I have an MG212T and still have the BA10-2 for small amp duty (technically I still have the 12-3 but it’s earmarked for sale next week). I was contemplating getting another 12-3 or 10-2 for the volume I needed, but some people here suggested a 212 rather than taking 3 cabs and that made more sense. If there was a 212-3, I probably would’ve gotten that, but I really like the MG212T.

@jjk2007 ---- Your comments are so true to what I discuss with a lot of players regarding "how loud" can these cabs get. With the BA design it is not just "brute force" of output (which it can do) but there is a "finesse" to the projection. There is so much more "travel" to the output of each note for each watt that you put into the cab.
While that is not technical jargon that is just how it is perceived. And for the player that translates into not having to work your instrument so hard (and your wrists and forearms) to get back what you're hearing in your head. There is no piece of "test equipment" that can measure that, that I'm aware of.
This is what you need to experience for yourself.

Or a pair of BA 115-3s stacked! Old school meets modern!

milk crates give it that extra zing in the low end...I know of what I speak...

That power meter…I have the same rack setup and that Furman PL+ meter tells me you had some dirty power.
BTW, gave my BA 15-3 SLT / 210-3 cabs the night off, Barefaced BBII Gen3’s and FOH carried this venue (B2B shows and different load outs).

All these rack shots had me pulling an old rack of castoffs out of the closet in order to assess whether I should move my 800 into one. I gotta say, it looks darn good sitting atop the BA cabs. I just don’t know about the practicality of it at this point.

My guitarist refers to this rig as “Wall-E”.

That’s funny! But I see the two eyes (lights), the nose (Tc Electronics) and the mouth with teeth showing (Blacksmith knobs) and the two ears (case latches).
The rack is almost bigger than the cabinet.

They are cheaters....pre-laced with very low profile side zippers at the ankles. Slip in and out in a flash.
And yes, that's Pedialyte Advanced by the rig. I highly recommend it for all players. A show secret of mine. I can lose 3lbs-4lbs of perspiration during a 3hr+ show and still feel on point for the callback tunes.

Barefaced BBII Gen3’s and FOH carried this venue

Those shoes are sharp. I need to get some new dress black shoes for my theatre shows, the old ones are, well getting old. Done a lot of shows, plus I need to update the look.

But I wanted to comment that the Genzler 800 looks very nice on top of the Barefaced BB's. They would look great out of the rack, sitting directly on top. I'm glad you are protecting the head, though.

The Genz Magellans would look nice on any cab with vintage silver grill cloth. Anyone else who hasn't chimed in with a pic of that combination want to?

I'm considering downsizing/rightsizing a bit at this point. Specifically, looking to swap out my BA15 + BA210SLT rig for a single 212, probably the NC212. I rarely take/use the stack and it seems to me that the gigs I play, casuals and some outdoor/indoor hard rock, would be covered nicely with a 212. The NC212 weighs 44 pounds, sits up nice and tall compared to the 38 pound 210.

I'm not after a particular sound...just clear, articulate bass tones that can cut through loud guitars when needed but recognizing that FoH support will take care of getting it out to the audience.

Would love to hear any and all thoughts on this plan.

I love my NC212, it's the workhorse I thought it would be, and sounds amazing. It can do any genre you need. I highly recommend it.

i’m sure, depending on your tonal goals, that would be a great choice. I’m wondering if you might miss some of the articulation you get from the array, as well as 10 inch speakers. 12’s sound a little pillowy to me, especially when I have two of them and no tens.

When I really need to punch through a band, I think it’s hard to beat two 2x10’s stacked vertically. But now you’re talking more weight and things to move around…

I personally feel like 12s don’t punch the same as tens, which is to say I am really enjoying the combination of a BA12-3 and a single BA10-2 on top. Depending on other jobs/small gigs or rehearsals, it’s pretty nice to have a scalable rig. And the new BA10 is only 19 pounds I think! And the single 12 is also a breeze to move and swing around even with one hand.

I would love to see a vertical Genzler 210 or 310 Bass Array cab…

i’m probably not helping at all but those are my thoughts… need me some tens for articulation.
