That's not an ancient movie theatre rig, it's a JBL 5732 screen array system which is a current product that uses differential drive neo mid drivers and a 2452 neo HF driver. The LF section is 2226HPL which is a little older yet still current. These components are also used in their high performance PA cabinets.

Back to Genzler! Has anyone noticed their speakers breaking in and getting greater low end with use? My BA12-3 is brand spanking new.

I have compared both setups of which you speak....

To me, soundwise, I prefer the BA410 because the quickness (lower mass) of the 10's which makes it sound clearer. I thought the extra (2) 3" array speakers in the BA210/15 combination would make it more clear but that's not what I hear. Now this was in my living room so stage level may be different but I doubt it. The BA410-3 is the cabinet that introduced me to Genzler and I've been a fan ever since. Now I own all the BA series cabs.

Not that the BA210/15 isn't clear, it is. That's the first thing other bassists say/notice when they hear or play this rig. This combination sounds great, punchy and is more modular/portable. I use this setup more than the BA410 and that 15 can get LOW!!! This combination with the 15 (30 Hz) has more lowend but the 410 has plenty (40 Hz). I play different genres of dance tunes on a 5-string bass with a BEADG standard tuning.

On a side note, when I use the BA410/15, I usually have to dial back the lows for my needs. Not so much with the BA410/210.

have you compare the straight versus slanted versions of the 210? I have a slant I am wondering how much different the straight is…

Nice choice! Just reafirms my need to get one at some point!

As an aside, my OCD got to me so I had to reflow my board. Even though I rotated the 4otF (always on) and the Crash Box 4 (occasional use) 90º, I feel much more at peace with this layout.

I had to tear half the board apart underneath, remove a three outlet power strip, and put it all back together. The best part is it worked the first time I plugged it in and tested it!

You know, that's the one cab (SLT) I do not own of the series. I do own the BA210-SRT.

I do have the BA12-3 SLT & SRT though. The SRT has a more round/full sound and the SLT has a more tight/clear sound. Both are clear though. I can only assume (I know) the same for the BA210-3 because of the internal waves of the cabinets but not sure. I have not heard them side by side and the ports are different also, so I can't really answer your question. Sorry.

I can’t imagine how it could possibly be improved considering how awesome the original is, but if so, that’s great. Every time I play that cab I am amazed at how big, articulate, and flexible it sounds and how small and light it is. It’s not like a lot of combos that just sound loud because of a boxy voicing, it sounds clear as day.

Well we were not sure how we could improve the original but we feel we certainly have doe so and our beta testers agreed.
Same cab design as the original, but all new Italian designed drivers, (LaVoce, not Faital) and we shaved off 2 lbs on the overall cab weight and enhanced the depth of how the 10" feels along with a smoother, even more articulate mid and upper response. And the new SERIES 2, will still blend very well with the original. Due to sourcing issues, we had to redesign the small array drivers and found that a NEO 2" was very pleasing in overal response and the change to this new 10" NEO provided a little more power and added depth, which all spelled BONUS to our original requirements.

We know that many players already have the original cabs, but now we can keep these cabs in production with this new series. These cabs have been hard to find for a while but that will change in a couple of weeks.

Any chance of a Bass Array 212, vertical array in 4 ohm cab, in the new series?

@kringle77 --- just for clarity, with the NU CLASSIC series we're using Eminence proprietary 10" and 12" ceramic low frequency drivers. In the NC-115T it is a very impressive LaVoce 15" ceramic driver. Hope this is helpful.

This post made me check out the LaVoce driver lineup. Us DIY inclined folks always try to understand how pro's work.
That driver would also make for an interesting sealed box choice.
