My Magellan 800 makes a loud hiss when the mute switch is engaged but the master volume is turned up - is this normal? On all my other amps (TC,Berg, GK) the mute makes it absolutely silent regardless of mater volume setting

Lol! Of course... it's great to be compensated for the effort, but sometimes the reward is not the money upfront.

Well, my BL sent me some tunes last night and wants to cover some heavier songs for some of the bar gigs we have over the winter months so I had no choice but to FINALLY bite the bullet and make some room for the Crash Box to my board. I'm cascading it off the 4otF set to a very subtle, always on, overdrive. There are a couple songs in our current set that have been begging me for a little distortion in them which is always a risky proposition for a country band. But hey, some of those Aldean songs everyone hates to love really rock out live.

Anyway, I'm running this into my 350/12T-V at home right now so just trying to find a suitable level of distortion. For my humbucker bass(es), I found I prefer 2nd gear but shift up to 3rd gear for my active Jazz and then bump the drive to around 1:00-2:00. As I mostly play my Jazz live, I'm excited how this will sounds through a bigger amp/speaker/PA.

I have just a teeny tiny corner left for whatever the next phantasmagorphic wizardry pedal y'all got cooking...although I'm not opposed to buying a bigger board if I have to...

My 410-3 is my ideal rock cab. Zeppelin.
My 15-3 is my ideal country cab, and with a 210 on top that would probably cover rock or country. Hard to go wrong either way. But the 410 is by far my go-to lately.

I personally went with a straight 210 paired with the 15 based on the recommendation of @Jeff Genzler due to how the arrays lined up and couldn’t be happier with it.

But I’d also really love to try a 410! Sorry. Don’t know if that helps.

That's not an ancient movie theatre rig, it's a JBL 5732 screen array system which is a current product that uses differential drive neo mid drivers and a 2452 neo HF driver. The LF section is 2226HPL which is a little older yet still current. These components are also used in their high performance PA cabinets.
