We know that many players already have the original cabs, but now we can keep these cabs in production with this new series. These cabs have been hard to find for a while but that will change in a couple of weeks.

Will this new 10" driver be incorporated into any/all of the other BA series of cabinets? Just curious!

Forgive me, if this has already been answered, but I have some specific questions about the DI on my Magellan 350…

1.) Does the built high-pass filter also affect the DI out signal?

2.) If so, does the pre/post EQ switch have any affect on the built in HPF?

I generally use a preamp pedal or Radial JDI for my direct signal, but I’m running into issues with a few soundmen that dont believe in shaving off the bottom, rather than just turning me down/off in the house system. It occurred to me that the DI on my amp might have a built-in high pass filter, and this would mean I don’t have to bring a separate DI.

Edit to add: I should clarify that my goal is to run the DI pre-EQ so that my tone controls don’t affect the signal, however I still want my direct signal to be affected by the internal high pass filter. Hope that makes sense!

Just to clarify regarding the HPF impact on the DI signal ---- in the PRE position of the DI the signal is coming directly from the INPUT circuitry and the PAD switch---so there would be NO HPF in the DI Signal. But most quality mixers will have a channel assignable HPF or some other option at the board. In the POST position on the Magellan's DI, then our internal HPF will be in the signal chain. this is for both the MG-350 and MG-800.
Also, using the GAIN control on the DRIVE channel will impact the HPF content ---- the higher the GAIN setting the higher the HPF is set, this helps to clean up LF clutter as the signal overdrives in the DRIVE Channel. And the B (AMPBER) contour also will "roll-up" the HPF as the CONTOUR control is increased.

Well, this absolutely answers my question above lol. Looks like I’ll have to run my DI in post-EQ mode to get the desired effect.

Jeff, I have always appreciated your openness when it comes to your designs and components used. It shows that there is no hocus locus or unnecessary vagueness going on with the company just to sell more products. Try getting anything out of Weber! Thank you

Love this scaled down multi driver setup.
BA12-3 SLT and BA110-2 with Magellan 800. The lows are big but less overwhelming than the BA15-3 at lower volume, and the single 10 adds a lot of punch and upper mids clarity to the mix. The 2.5 inch speakers actually extend a little bit higher than the threes as well. I need to do some comparison with my single BA210-3 SLT.
Really sounds great with both electric and upright. I was trying to get a decent photo with the rig but the photographer didn’t realize I also have a head oops

Yes I plan on getting the new BA – 10 S2 and comparing it with the old version! could be another kind of cool mix. The new one extends lower and higher than this one. To my ears, every size driver has a different character and application. I disagree when people say the size of speaker doesn’t matter—that you can tune the lows to that size driver, etc. The BA15-3 is wonderful when you really need that depth and need to be very present in the lows. But I find it needs a certain amount of volume threshold to really speak as I want it to. In other words, higher volume, bigger venues, or outdoors! In the right situation that cab is intoxicating…
As of this moment this little 12 and 10 combination is kind of a Goldilocks for the typical small or medium sized gig where I need to double especially.
