I wish I still had mine. I'm not sure, some 12 years later, why I sold it. Can't undo that choice, but I am enjoying my Mesa and Genzler amps and cabs.

A pretty significant percentage of the Genzler fans here played Genz Benz rigs before. (I owned a Shuttle 3.0 and a 9.0). They were/are great amps. You can certainly hear the family resemblance but also the evolution from the previous line to the current one. As much as I loved my Shuttles, I love my Genzler even more.

I like the Magellan too, I've played it several times. The switchable contour is a cool feature. But atm I can't find any reason to let my SM go for another amp. There is really nothing on the market afaik to beat this preamp. I also have the smaller Shuttle 9.2 as a backup. May be I could let this one go for a Magellan 800.

It's interesting how this all snowballs. Originally, I bought the MG350 head for a small gig/rehearsal amp. Then, the small speaker I had didn't work out, so I bought a used BA12-3 and that led to another and now I'm thinking of upgrading to the MG800....

I did that too. Turns out the 350 has plenty of power. I have a pedal that gives me some grind so ... I really don't need the 2nd channel on the 800. But, I bought it anyway (used), and do use it sometimes. But usually I will run the mg 350 combo on top of 1 or 2 ba12-3's.

Loving the Magellan pre!! I use it by bypassing my RB combos pre and going into the effects return for 100% Genzler goodness!

That's good to hear. I was interested in having an FX loop and tuner out, but maybe I can do without. Friday's show will tell. Outside on the main street of Telluride with the temperatures plunging below 20 by the end of the set and snow in the forecast.

Absolutely. I've replaced all of my cables, including my patch and XLR, with Rattlesnake. Amazing quality and customer service!

Had rehearsal downtown last night - the cab in that room is an Emperor 6x10.

Some amps that I’ve paired with that cab have had a tough time making it speak articulately, but the MG800 made it sound as good as I’ve heard it.

Another very satisfying Magellan experience…

I've paired my ShuttleMax 9.2 with my Glockenklang TakeFive cab - a very tasty combination and a very good match for the SM. Although it brings out every detail of your playing it still delivers a beefy and fat tone.

I just picked up a 4 On the Floor. Is it just me or are the 4 drive gears fairly similar? I can hear a definite difference between 1 & 4 and I can hear a slight change from 1 to 2, but can't hear a difference between 2 & 3.

To my understanding the differences are subtle by design.

Correct, is some cases the difference is more in the feel, the compression or how it enters and exits overdrive.

The differences will be more subtle with higher levels of clean blend also.
