Kinda GASSING for the BA-210-3 SLT series 2…

anyone specifically compare that to the older BA-210-3 (which I have and love)

In other news, my BA-410-3-S2 has broken in nicely!!! Really great tone all around; the lows really blossomed, the highs are beautiful, and it’s super punchy in the low mids without being too much (I’ve had it about two months)

I used it by itself at a medium gig the other day and it was the perfect one cab solution…(even better with the BA-115-3 underneath but I didn’t miss it for this indoor gig)

also, check out that power cable. ESP Musicord Pro. You owe it to yourself to try one… Especially if you can plug straight into the wall. All else being equal, I’ve noticed every one of my amps has more depth, smoother mids, and more volume at the same setting as any other ICE cable I’ve tried. I’m sure you’re probably all skeptical and somebody’s going to chime in who’s an electrical engineer and say that’s impossible… But if you haven’t tried it, and you’re going to dismiss it, please hold your comments for now lol. Every friend of mine who has auditioned it with their amp starts out as a skeptic, but after trying it, wants one.

in fact, what motivated me to try it was trying two different power cables. A thick one, and a thin one. It was probably like a 16 and an 18 or 20 gauge possibly. They sound different! If you’re interested, go check out the website… Really interesting stuff.

Congratulations to @Jeff Genzler and @agedhorse ! I very much appreciate your dedication to us bass players and welcome to see much more of your products in the future. I hope to see this ongoing for a long time.

Unfortunately for your business your Genz-Benz amps still serve me very well and I can't see any reason to substitute them in the near future. But it speaks for the quality of your products.

Unsolicited review on FB from in the venue at a gig last weekend. All thanks to Genzler. Pardon their French. They've heard me play for years.

"Edwin Hurwitz's bass tone on Feel Like a Stranger now is f**king crazy good!"

I have to say that the tone was all I've been looking for in the last 50 years of bass playing.

Took my MG350 - 2 x 10-2 s2 stack to an audition with a new group of seasoned players yesterday. 2 guitars, drums, singer and bass. It was a fairly small rehearsal room, but after two notes I unplugged the bottom cab. Just the top cab at less than half volume was more than enough, this rig is just incredible. They offered me the spot, and the drummer who is in multiple projects invited me to join a cover band he is in as well!

I love my 210 and have been curious about the series 2 version. Have you compared the older one and the newer one?

That's my stack also, only I'm using a Mesa D-350 to drive them and have the cabinets not stacked but placed one beside the other about a foot and a half off of the ground. If there is a better 10" bass cabinet out there I certainly haven't heard it. One cab by itself sounds great but two of these 10" cabs together sound monsterous! Not that I need it but if I ever decided to add a third array cabinet I always assumed it would probably either be the 12" or 15" but I've totally changed my mind, I'd go with another series 2 10". The fact that they are so small, light and easy to move around is a big bonus.

Skunk, I bought the Mesa D-350 and played out with it and Acme B-1s before Genzler introduced the Series 2. I took the plunge after talking with Jeff, as the combo concept made a lot of sense to me. It is redundant to have both those heads, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to sell the Mesa. I have played through it into one or both of the BA 10s.. and do see why you like the Mesa/Genzler stack you have. I think the two heads sound more alike than different. The controls do slightly different things and the feel is also slightly different. When I have to choose, I'll sell the Mesa because I like the combo format, but for now, I don't want to!

I'm also with you in that I never can believe how much well-balanced and well-dispersed sound the 10-2s produce. They would sound great with any head.

Well, off hand I can't think of any really bad heads out there but I'm sure if you were using a crappy head the sound out of the arrays would likewise sound bad. Not the fault of the speakers however they would just be doing their job. These cabs are just so revealing and have so much resolution just like an esoteric stereo system that reproduces the source, be it LP or CD so accurately. If a speaker sounds great using a bad amp something is wrong with the speaker. I also have an Aguilar TH-350 which I occasionaly use with the arrays and this set up also sounds superb, but I somewhat prefer the Mesa-D350.
