I don't have that yet since my skills still suck. But I ahve to admit that a pair of BA-10s and a BA-12 seems like a seriously good combination.
one 10, one 12, two 10s, one 10-one 12, two 10s-one 12. That is a lot of sound. So many options. One of these days perhaps.

I have 2 12s and a 15. That's a great combination!

I've been thinking along the same lines. I can't decide between adding a third BA-10 or putting a BA-12 under my 2 BA-10's. Then I wonder how a Nu Classic 12" cab would work out under 2 BA-10's? Maybe Jeff will chime in.

@Moonskunk ---sorry for the delay. This is probably more personal decision than technical, BUT that said, I personally prefer not to mix Bass Array cabs with non-BA cabs. Like someone else said. aligning the arrays is such an important aspect of this design. Regarding using just the 2 BA10-2-S2 cabs and either adding a 3rd OR a larger BA12, adding the 12 is much more interesting to me that it has been in the past. I would usually prefer to keep like cabs BUT I've also enjoyed adding the larger 12" cabinet to these smaller BA10-2 cabs. It does offer a bigger, more rounded low end, PLUS it gives you options to only use the 12" if you care to or use it in other configuration variations.
And I would stay within the BA cabs and not going with the NC series in combination with the BA series.

I'm one step closer to completing my rig and the Magellan 350 is nothing short of outstanding! I'm currently running through a Darkglass X7 and Walrus Audio Slötvå. I know that reverb pedals are often shunned by the bass community but this pedal is excellent for my style on extended range bass. For chords, harmonics and tap techniques in the upper register; the Walrus is absolutely incredible. The TC BC208 cabs really came to life when I switched to the Magellan and they pack some serious punch. I didn't think I'd be as pleased as I am with a compact rig like this (under 50 lbs.), as I'm used to hefty cabs like SWR and Trace Elliot.

I know this may be a shocking development, but the Kinetix 800 and 2xBA115-3 SLT rig killed! This was an outdoor show, and in fact, the first concert in the newly completed amphitheater in my home town. Nice, big stage, outside (perfect weather!), a few buildings to bounce sound off of, but mostly an open area, and we had a crowd of 375-400 people. As I often do (especially since I am always gigging with different gear in for review), I initially set up my bass heads "flat" (all controls at noon), and then tweak from there. Other than trying out the three switch positions (Lean, Fat, and Thick, and sticking with the middle setting, Fat), and other than turning the Master volume down a bit, that is where I left things all night. It just sounded so perfectly full, clear, dynamic, and musical! Of course, I already know that I love the sound/performance of the two BA115-3 SLT cabs, so that certainly helped, but man, the Kinetix was just perfect! I kept my tone clean, but of course with a big more "harmonic excitement," but nothing close to a recognizable overdrive.

I played my Will Lee most of the night, but I did switch to the Devon J5 for tunes which called for something below a drop-D. Other than turning down the volume on the Devon (it's a bit louder than the Sadowsky), and other than rolling off the VTC and boosting the bass a bit on the WL4 for some Marley, I didn't touch the onboard EQ on either bass. We definitely had the bass in the PA, but with my rig set up behind the drummer, he didn't need me in his monitor, and he loved what he was hearing.

All in all, I could not be more happy with the performance from this rig!

Question: If want to maintain my current stereo rig, would it work to use the FX send to my effects, and then return one side to the Kinetix FX return and the other side to one of my MG350s set absolutely flat and then use the DIs of each as left and right? I would have the Kinetix power the BA15 and the MG350 power a BA12.

Thoughts?

Congrats on the purchase. I'm not totally sure of your stereo effects board, but this does sound like it will work as you'd like and get the benefit of the Kinetix tube pre for your full signal. Let us know how it works and feels for your rig.

Thanks. The stereo aspect comes from an Eventide H90 or Line 6 HX Stomp and gets panned left and right in the FOH. As long as the DI parts of the circuits are reasonably identical on both amps, should work fine. I'll just select PRE for the MG350 and balance the channels with the input level and the speaker levels with the outputs.

I feel your pain. This is from mid-day at the High Sierra Festival in 2008. 115º in the shade. There was a stage hand with a bucket of ice water who kept renewing the icy cloth around my neck.

I just had an outdoor show Sunday during the day, but luckily the temp was only 99 degrees, breezy and cloudy so not too bad. Kind of funny to say that 99 degrees wasn't too bad, but yeah I have played on days that are hotter and they can make a fun show not all that fun.
