We almost had to cancel a gig last summer. Late afternoon, no tent or cover. Full Sun over and then setting behind us. iPads we shutting down. That’s our mixer, keyboard guy runs MainStage, lyrics for others, it wasn’t fun. It ended up being ok once was got shade for iPads (and us) and got going. Tough for a while though. I love outdoor gigs, but in the evening and by the lake are much better.

Just received my Kinetix…
Not currently gigging, so I often play my DB751>NV610T at home. I have a really large open space, so it’s played at fairly decent (not bedroom) volume…can feel a good amount of air. That said, the Aggy fan noise isn’t optimum for home use. Hence, began looking for another authentic tube option:
Was quickly able to get both amps sounding fairly similar. The knobs are not set precise in the pic above, but I do typically cut mid's at home, to get what I want to hear. Away from home, mid’s obviously get cranked back up.
Kinetix:
• Quiet noise floor and fan!
• Prefer the BOOST engaged, even for clean
• Prefer FAT or THiCK option, depending on which bass and volume being used in my home (THICK option—even late-late night/extremely low volume, no headphone playing is still very enjoyable)
• Super impressed with the playing feel!
• Paired with my old school sealed (and ported) heavy ceramic cabs…duck on water!
There might be more untapped slam with the Aggy…but honestly, I’m feeling a similar amount of weighty air, given my playing volumes. I’m very curious how they’d compare (slam-wise) at outdoor gig volume. But wow, there’s so many advantages with Kinetix (form-factor, weight, etc…)

You wanna know what’s torture? Having the Kinetix sit at home in a box while the next three weeks consist of a business trip, multiple gigs, vacation, MORE gigs, another business trip, and more gigs.
It’s gonna be July before I’ve even have the chance to open it up. Gah!

Thanks for the initial review. Nice to see you comparing the Kinetix to such a 'heavy-weight" tube amp. Hope you enjoy it even more once you get a chance to spend more time with it.

Seriously. The Kinetix I ordered has a shipping label but no actual shipping data. The website said it was the last one. I hope that the last one wasn't sold before mine and they are waiting for additional stock.
Sorry, I actually missed your question. I’ll start with my S1 BA210-3 STR/BA15-3 SLT rig for some outdoor shows but I’m even more curious how it sounds with my NC-212T for some classic tube/ceramic driver tones.
I’m not getting rid of my Magellan head and I have my suspicions I may prefer that head with the BA cabs and the Kinetix with the NC but only time will tell.
It will be interesting to hear your opinions after you get a chance to hear the results after mixing and matching different head/cab combinations.
Yes…I was curious if anyone has tried it with the NC cabs. I have a 212 now and just picked up a 350. Let me in the club!
I have a small board with a Noble. Ran it into that setup last Friday at a small outdoor thing and it was really nice. P w rounds. I’m going to get to use the same setup in a couple weeks but with a P and flats.

Yes, I have played the Kinetix 800 with the NC210/NC115, and I really feel like this is an excellent pairing.

Edwin: My goodness, that rack, that bass, and that tie-die grille! Primo best, right there. What is the tie-die cabinet? And then, the bottom cab?
Those of you who were around and participated in the heyday of The Bottom Line email list will know about the bass and the rack, at least. I am so glad that we can share full color, high resolution pictures, the complete opposite of TBL. But I still miss those late 90's/early 2000's days of TBL.

Impatience got the best of me so I’m pretending to do some prep work for a wedding because I’ve been gone all week and should NOT be doing this.
As you can see, I’ve done very little tweaking, mostly just finding my sweet gain spot, and whoa! This things makes itself known, er, felt! I thought the Magellan does a great job of having some heft to the notes but this is different. Heft and bloom and that little bit of harmonic sparkle.
I’m plugged into the head, no effects, bass pre set flat (Lakland 55-02), and it’s a noticeable difference, particularly running in the “P” position, with a little bit of pick scrape. Very pleasant. Very heavy iron.
That settles it. It’s coming out with me this weekend. Now to determine if I need the Noble or not.

The tie-dye is a 1967 Sunn 200S with JBL K140s. The cab below it is a very early Bag End cab, which also has a K140 in it. TBL was awesome. It still exists, although with just a trickle of traffic.
Wow, that sounds VERY positive! Anxious to hear if it knocks your Noble off the board, I’m guessing it will based on many other comments about the head.
