Thanks for your help! I really want to test drive them. On paper, the Nu Classic sounds like what I like but how many times do you find that you actually prefer a sound other than what you imagine? I haven't played through a Kinetix but I do still have my Shuttlemax 9.2, which as you know does have a tube pre. After many years of playing exclusively through that, I really thought of myself a tube pre kind of guy. Well after a few days of playing around with the Magellan, I'm starting to rethink that.

I'll just say that I generally am drawn to less modern sounds. I literally never slap so sparkly highs have no appeal to me. I hear that those 3 inch drivers deliver a very smooth top end though so that could be great for me. Too many choices!

Well until I make some choices, I'm going to crank this hodge podge stack and have a blast doing it!

Hi all, I'm very happy with my Magellan 350 combo. Thus far I've only been using it at home but I would like to start gigging again.
I'm curious to hear peoples thoughts about what they consider the Magellan 350 head's upper limits before one should really look at a MG800 or a Kinetix?
I'm thinking in terms of cab size and number of cabs before they're underpowered?
Large gigs don't figure in my plans, and I don't play metal, but general thoughts regardless of my specifics are fine.

If you're not playing large gigs, you may never need to bump up. Although Want may be more appropriate than Need.

I've used the MG350 with everything from a one BA 10-2 combo to one BA 112-3SLT combined with two of the BA 10-2s for a triple stack. That was outdoors and proved more than I needed. I've also gone with the MG350 and two MG 12T-Vs. Again, more than I needed.

I know it's difficult, but maybe wait until you need more power and instead get a second cab. You'll need that way before you need the MG800 or Kinetix ( IMHO ).

Good luck and enjoy your Genzler equipment. You've made a great choice.

I have the 350 combo and most gigs I play are pretty small so the combo is awesome. I picked up a first series BA210 that I add for bigger venues and I find it has more than enough power. Best of all, the combo with the 210 provided clear and deep sound on stages that I found boomy/mushy/echoing previously.

For large stages, the few times we've played on those we've run the 350 into the FOH as well, so I haven't seen the need to go larger. I also have a Genz Benz 500 combo with a 15" that really rocks when I add the 10 or 210 to it, just to get more oomph. thought I'd sell it, but I don't see why after fooling around with the whole Genz family.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying my MG350 Combo. Everything that's been posted about it's transparency is spot on. What I'm hearing is the way each of my basses actually sound and with detail I've never been able to pick up on before. I've had it for about a year now after having spoken over the phone with Jeff briefly about the Bass Array before hand. Nothing he said was exaggerated in the least.

Up to this point it's been used solely at home but I'm getting ready to add a second cab to expand it to a full scale rig for gigging and get the benefit of it's full output. After 50 plus years of gigging in all sorts of bands and different venues all I can say is I only wish we had gear like this long ago. My old back is appreciates it and I know it would've saved me one hernia operation.

Testify, brother! I recommend the 210 as a second cab. It sure works for me. Can I get a witness?!

I won't need anything that big for my needs any longer. Initially I debated on whether to add a 12" version but I believe I'll stick with another 10" and keep if lightweight and matched. 350w through twin 10" cabs will have plenty bottom end for me and will handle anything I can conceive of now. If my needs should ever change I can deal with it later.

I use the 350 with an MG212T cab. I don’t usually need it to carry a room, just stage monitoring, but I’ve never come close to running out of steam. Great rich and full sound for days.

I sold my Epifani UL2 212 after I bought the combo with the intent on adding a second cab. I just hadn't decided until recently whether I wanted another 10" or a 12". With the improvements made to the newer 10-2 S2 version I'm not sensing any lack of bottom end from just one cab so I'm sure two will be fine plus I like the punch of the 10s.

I live in a 2nd floor unit with no elevator so I'm no longer into hauling a 212 cab like that Epifani up and down a flight of stairs. The weight of the Bass Array cabs or should I say lack thereof is also a major attraction for me. Easy enough to one hand those. Not at all possible with that 212 even though it weighed around 50lbs. If I ever find myself wanting or needing a 212 again I'll know where I can buy one. I'm 100% sold on Genzler gear from now on.

With the level of quality the products boast coupled with your personal service and attention to user needs you make that very easy to do Jeff. I don't know of any other manufacturer who comes to a forum like this to answer questions and deal with your customers issues as often you do. Old school business principles like yours are much harder to find in this world today.
