Can anyone speak to the coupling effect of adding a second BA 12-3 to the mix. The store I was able to try a cabinet at only had one in stock and I LOVED it. It was probably my favorite of the three different 12 cabs I was checking out that day plus mine (Genzler, Berg HDN, Mesa SW, and my Aguilar sl). However, when I threw the Mesa SW 15 under the SW 12, well gosh that was big and punchy. I know my Aguilar sl112's take on a whole different personality (for the better) when paired up. Does the profile for the BA change much when adding a second cab or is it more of what I'm already hearing?
I was REALLY impressed by the single BA 12-3 with the Magellan 800 head. It's at the top of my list right now for updating my rig, along with the Mesa stuff. For reference, I'm running a GenzBenz SM 9.2 into a pair of Aguilar sl112's for 95% of my gigs right now.

Did you get a chance to try 2 of the 210-3 arrays together? Out of everything Genzler makes I like that combination even better than my 3 112-3 stack. I feel like 1 or 2 of them covers anything I could ever want.

They only had one of each cab. The 210 was nice, and super punchy and quick (reminded me of mike arnopol's cabs) but the 112 is more my tone, thicker, more mids, more character in my opinion. The 210 is addicting to play for sure because of that punchiness, but the 112 is more my style.

They just get more immense as you go. I recently used four together for an outdoor gig and scientists are still probably trying to figure what caused the local earthquakes.

The two that I regularly use together are never at a loss for volume and deep bass. I can't imagine anything more that wasn't outright painful.

I'll second what Tony said - I have a pair of 12-3s and while one sounds amazing, adding the second cabinet really just seem to make what is awesome about 1 better. Everything just gets bigger, but still very much in keeping with the characteristics of the single cab.

I have a 10-2 and had a One10. I'm not going back. No way. No how.

They're 2 different boxes for 2 different applications IMHO. The One 10 is the King of portability and volume per lb, but it produces an old school tone by design. I loved it for rock and blues with EB, which is what I play, but when I recently bought an ABG with piezo, it was inadequate. The 10-2 is a much more HiFi machine and more versatile, with similar volume capability in a less portable package. I love a modular stack so I sold 2 One10s and bought 2 10-2s, but considering my modest, hobbyist volume needs, I might have been better off keeping 1 of each flavor......whatevs........having fun......

But I love clean and clear tone of the 10-2. Plus it stays clean and clear whilst cranked. It's a beast.

70's cover band tonight playing a 1982 high school reunion.

The band uses IEM's. I usually bring a small pedal board for these kind of situations. But what the heck… Why not try the MG800 instead of the pedal board??

We had to set up early and did a quick sound check. Here's the setting I used on the MG800. (Except for the Mute being on!) Sounds great!

Thanks for making them. I am using a 1989 made in Japan F****r Jazz with Seymour Duncan quarter pound pickups. I adjust tone by moving my right hand from bridge to neck and pressure.

Still loving the Carry Bag.
Who ever helped with the carry bag I say, Thank you for having the receiving eyelet for the shoulder strap clip made out of metal, large and round. The rest of the bag is also very nice of course. I fill the front pouch with a tuner, three ten foot cables, power and speaker cable, so it is stuffed. Wanting to carry my bass stand and power extension cord would mean also using or just loading everything, amp included into my old messenger bag because it all fits.

Then comes the idea to hang the stand and cable on the side of the bag off of the shoulder strap. Fed the strap through and it worked, but took a bit to get the threading through, lock and unlock part down. Noticing the large eyelet would also fit a climbing hook, it was time to get a big one, so off to the hardware store with amp bag and stand in hand.
Then I found this.

Nite Ize 18 in. Gear Tie in Black (2-Pack)-GT18-2PK-01 - The Home Depot

It is like a bread tie for everything, and it fits perfectly into the amp bag's eyelet with the strap still clipped. Made of rubber so it will not scratch or wear on your gear. 18 inch is the perfect length. Put item around tie, then give three or so twist. 18 inch is the perfect length.

Now for the pictures.
I pulled out the stand side for better visual.

With out the power extension cord. Very easy to remove, I do not mind having them dangling, they are there if needed.

Been using it for a few weeks, Love it. The Guitarist from last night thought it was neat that I can carry a stand on the amp bag.
Swing it on your back and go.

I've been reading all of the "Help me choose a new head" threads and am surprised at how few of them begin with the Magellan on the list of amps to consider. It usually gets mentioned a page or so into the thread but more often than not, it is not included in the OP's "here is my list that I'm considering" which almost always includes the Subway. Is it simply because there are fewer Genzlers out there? The list often includes some of the more rare amps like the Darkglass or even a Trickfish so I don't think that is the only reason. Not knocking the Subway or any of the other options being considered but it is curious to me. Any thoughts?

Certainly that is true for some (a small number?)... but not all of the others go below 4. The trickfish heads, for example only go down to 4.

I was going to do that actually. .But my gig turned into IEMs and i use the MG212 to fill out the stage.. So it's not just drums on stage... Guitars are using Kempers ...
When im on my gigs at home , it easily does club gigs ... I find that i play louder on bar gigs than i do on regular stage gigs. Im wanting to keep it all in perspective.. Since back in the day (70s and 80) i normally used three 810 cabs.. Not for loud but just to be wide. . Im trying to not go there. .HAHA Since i never play metal...

Add the MG112T to it and it becomes a monster.
