Speaking of cool basses, have you tried the new MusicMan Caprice, by any chance? I mean.. I heard a little story about how Fender and MusicMan ended a long standing agreement not to create competing basses with each other, resulting in the Dimension, which is essentially a Fender Stingray, and now the Caprice, which is a MusicMan Passive PJ.
I own the top of the line Dimension (MIA Deluxe V HH) .. however I have to admit that I think MusicMan has won this round. The Caprice is absolutely phenomenal.
Huh, that's interesting. I have not tried either of those basses though. I've only ever played a couple Musicman basses, but I do remember being pretty impressed with a fretless I played many years ago.
Overkill?? No such thing. Killer gear all the way around. I find the 'Vornado' fan works best for metal...

See, people say "overkill" as though it's a bad thing. I am not one of those people and you will notice I am not putting any of my Arrays up for sale. Lol!
I play classic rock and the vintage silver look of my fan compliments that nicely
I forgot to add that this amp is "quick" and can get loud. I like the Drive channel, though I think it should be called Tube Emulation, or something like that. "Drive" makes it sound like it's a distortion channel? IMO, YMMV, etc etc.
If you can hear the rest of the band, it's not overkill.
I wanted to share a few pics of my very first gig with my Genzler rig. My band finally made out live debut, and it went really, really well. My rig sounded awesome, and at one point during soundcheck the sound guy says "You know, your amp is pretty loud, do we even need to put you through the PA?"

Sounds fun, you guys should get a little A to D like a Irig or something so you can get board recordings for your video. Otherwise pretty cool stuff!
Yeah, we've been discussing the best way to do this. We have a Zoom 8-track recorder, but not sure the best way to get a clean board recording without having to do a bunch of sub-mixing at the time. Never used iRig .. how would that work, in simple terms?
If I needed an amp I'm pretty sure it would ba an 800/12-3 stack.

Looks like you had a nice deep stage. My guess is that your tone dispersed very well across the stage and your drummer probably had no issues hearing you. Not from shear volume but from projection.

You could just pull the stereo mix off the board and record in any USB device
You know, I didn't even think of recording from a stereo output.. next time we are doing that!
It certainly sounded different than it does on our cement jam bunker! This was my first live show since my old band broke up in 2012, and it could hardly have gone any smoother.
Having my Genzler rig made me feel very confident in the sound I was putting out, and I was getting kudos all night on my tone.
Now I really can't wait for my Dingwall to show up.. that thing is going to sound huge!
Also some boards these days have their own digital output/USB. That would also work
