Present and counting on being more so.
Just got home from the monthly Bluegrass (& Country) Jam, with the new state fiddle champion in attendance, along with a few past champs! Even the beginners, who take lessons from the champs, are sounding better lately.
It was a great time! It's very encouraging to see the nonagenarian fiddle laureate there after some very serious health issues the past few years. He was in fine form, even joking about his palsey, calling it "natural vibrato".
I tell you what! Seeing some of these Grateful OFs makes it hard for me to be grumpy. I firmly believe that half of them would be laying in a nursing home if they didn't have music making in their lives. That's my retirement plan! 6 years in, so far, so good.
