There’s yet another remastered deluxe version of Abbey Road being released soon. Being a sucker for these sort of things, I’ve ordered it.

Technology marches on. They have made good progress in processing recorded data. Mixed songs can be broken down to their individual tracks, noise can be eliminated, technical mistakes corrected.. It does sound better, detail like you’ve never heard. Not sure if this is always a good thing. In the case of the Beatles, Giles Martin and team have taken a conservative approach, honoring the music.

Some songs are best played L-O-U-D. I wonder if the neighbors mind.

I thought it was great, and look forward to the DVD release (I assume there will be one). Lots of honesty and candor from her first person viewpoint throughout the film; wonderful concert footage (lots of it); an amazing range of interviewees; very moving story (I didn't really know a whole lot about her, previously).

I saw them in '06 at the Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary bash.

I think that's Susanna Hoffs - Whew!

Good morning GOF's. An early (for Alaska) Roll call today. Please front and center report in that all or most appendages accounted for and can confirm you're still in a somewhat human condition . Well the monsoon season has arrived for little Sitka, Alaska. A lot of people (myself included) are thrilled-- the weather temp dropped at least 10-12 degrees overnight. I stepped into the morning and it was very wet and the air was crisp-cool. Ahhhh--- Alaskan weather! This final monsoon is designed to flush the last of the salmon of the creek out to the oceans and it does that very well.

This weekend we're working on clearing our spare bedroom (yeah, it's that bad) of all the excess Amazon purchases we made over the course of last winter 2019 and this year. We've also found we have so many utensils we don't use anymore-- air popcorn machines, hot dog machines, etc. and they are all making the trip to the Salvation Army. Shawshank Redemption is making a big splash this weekend on Turner Classic Movies channel so since we can't go to a show live, we rented it from Amazon and will kind of celebrate along with TCM Alaskan style!

So what say ye, GOF's? What plans do you have this weekend? All miscellaneous and trip reports are welcomed!

A hale n hearty Hey, Y’all from Surprise, AZ!

Lawt, the sky here is Big, and the bluest blue. It’ll break 100F later today, but for the moment, it’s warm, but not oppressive.

I’d had some concerns about my sister, Noreen, based on her own emails, and a comment or two my my sister Eileen last month, but she (Noreen) seemed in Fine spirits, and physically Able when we visited for the first time in about a year, yesterday!

We have a pair of broken/missing (minor) parts that we need to replace; Camping World, I suppose...and some grocery shopping to do...we’ll get Nonie up off the couch for a bit!

Dudes n Dudettes!!

It’s Disco Friday!!!:hyper:

Creaky, grumpy and dopey here.

Hey, I’m three of the Seven Dwarves!

Considering a trip to St Catherine’s, Ontario (about a 2 hour drive) tomorrow, to look at a late ‘90’s Korean Epiphone El Capitan C5.

I have a little Ibanez acoustic bass that’s the size of a Classical guitar, feels just as easy on my back and fingers, and sounds ridiculously fat and warm. There are only two hitches: it’s got a twelfth fret body joint with no cutaway, and I’m addicted to fivers.

The theory is that by stringing the Epi with Thomastik Acousticores (nylon rope-core bronze), I might be able to create a full-size version of the Ibanez, that actually has a decent low B.
