Present and functioning. Good thing too 'cause it's been a heck of a day so far. On the job site at 5:45 am.......house done and tested and me heading home around 10. Cut the grass for my neighbor and me... done with that around noon. Seahag is heading out to some bike function in York Pa. for the weekend tonight and her windshield was still a little wonky. Popped it off and took in downstairs and cranked up the Harbor Freight buffer with three pads and three compounds. Still not perfect (it really got messed up bad when she laid the thing down) but a whole lot better than it was. I think she'll be really happy with it.
Gig with the no name band on Sunday at some pig roast. We got together last night here and went over the three songs we were supposed to learn this week. Not easy stuff and I burned a lot of brain cells getting them down , or so I thought. Well , ,wouldn't you know it , they changed the key on two of them and neither one is an easy transpose. Guess I'll be cooking more brain cells tomorrow getting them down in the new keys. If you see someone walking around Hagerstown Sunday night , babbling incoherently ,it's probably me.;)

There’s some sort of football game this Saturday so we won’t be able to take the car out. I’ll loose my parking spot. Last weekend it was a bicycle race that held us hostage. Next weekend it will be a student protest, but that’s on Friday. Don’t go out that day. They follow their leaders like sheep. It’s troubling.

Waiting on three orders for ukulele parts, one yet to be placed. Maybe it’ll be ready for Christmas concerts. I received four packs of Martin nylons for it today.

Received a CRA800 ABS instrument case made by Crossrock. Good quality for a low price. Well worth buying.

A lot of walking for errands planned as usual. Starting with a trip to the bakery and pastry shop. They close before sundown today which is getting earlier and earlier.

It’s pizza Friday.

That should give you plenty of time to practice. :D

Good morning GOF's. An early (for Alaska) Roll call today. Please front and center report in that all or most appendages accounted for and can confirm you're still in a somewhat human condition . Well the monsoon season has arrived for little Sitka, Alaska. ... ... So what say ye, GOF's? What plans do you have this weekend? All miscellaneous and trip reports are welcomed!

I's rat cheer! An' I's kindly humane, ... most times. Saturday's Bluegrass Jam day, unless the flooding in Texas goes down enough to go "say goodbye" to my mother-in-law in her final days. Been trying to go for a few days now, at her nurse's behest, but it's a mess with their unscheduled monsoon, named Imelda! Actually, Mrs. Dog feels we've been saying "goodbye" for years, due to deteriorating health, since even before she stopped recognizing all her children. Sunday's the weekly church gig, which is always uplifting, and certainly needed.

All accounted for and .... presents?

Here on Friday it begins with a large lAatte and headlong into the brick and mortar bookshop. A cool morning, not a cold morning, a hoodie is fine today. Growers' market Saturday, yea or nay? Leaning on yea but uncertain what I need. Apples, perhaps. Always best to simply go and see what is there today.

I am sort of here. Been a crazy busy week with petsitting jobs and I'm barely getting the chance to skim my usual online haunts. Not much going on outside of that; got a gig I'm not super looking forward to tomorrow with a little band that started out as a fun project but now seems like a pain in my rear end. So I will probably be giving those guys my walking papers soon. I really like the BL; he's a super nice guy, but he's brought in some questionable characters and my sense is that it's turning into one of those things were everyone goes around everyone else's backs and whines to the BL about other people in the band, rather than just working through whatever differences in an adult manner. I so despise that dynamic in a band and I just won't put up with it. There are enough actual snakes in California, I don't need to be playing music with their human equivalents.

Beyond that, the music isn't really engaging me or challenging me in any way. So I'm not getting anything out of it :-/

In other news, I had a good rehearsal with my main band last night, which does a mix of originals and covers. We're working in a new guitarist who's really good, but we need to deconstruct and reconstruct some of our original material in order to make it work. Right now we're prepping for a 3 set gig coming up on Oct 5 so we'll get down to that business afterwards. Those guys are so good right now, we have almost everything I've hoped for in this new player, so I'm really having fun with that band again.

An hour and a half walk to the market, longer to get home. Our limiter is how much we can comfortably carry. When I take the car I buy more than I need.

Apples should be sweeter this week than two weeks ago. Leftover apples are sauced in the microwave. Very good with a bit of squeezed lemon added. It also helps the apples retain their color.

Glad I read that. Baked apples.

It’s unfortunate when band dynamics get in he way of the music.

A good rule, nobody plays a note unless you are doing the song. It’s hard to discuss and fully resolve issues when people are distracted. High maintenance people are not tolerated in a professional environment.

Everything is good...EKG showed I still have a heart. Doctor wanted to talk to me but he's gone on two weeks vacation. I left him a message saying that I should still be around when he returns ;).

Getting our attic insulation back up to R38 today, as much fun as watching the grass grow .

The EKG serves as a baseline for subsequent ones.

With the added insulation you won’t hear the critters in the attic.
