Well, for this group of connoisseurs, I certainly hope it was Grey pewp on!

Grey Poupon is one of the secret ingredients in my rib sauce. Along with minced garlic, tomato paste, ground tomato, Louisiana Hot Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and molassis.

"I know it looks like con-nīgh-seer, but it's connoisseur."

Toxicity of chemicals wasn’t something they even thought about. When x-ray technology came out they over used it without concern. There was x-ray art, even x-rays of feet at shoe stores (Shoe-fitting fluoroscope).

Then there was those little green dots on watches and alarm clocks, Radium paint on watches. Military radios had this on some meters. The government mandated that when they sold surplus gear, all the meters with radium indicators had to be removed prior to sale for safety reasons. I have replacement meters without the radium in some of my equipment. Thankfully they were available.

What I like about brown toner is that it always made the subjects look so much happier.

Late 1800’s in England.

mmmm ribs

pork ribs > beef ribs
or
beef ribs > pork ribs

[divide by zero error]

And back from the doctor and this is what she finds - arthritis of the right subtalar joint. X-ray shows bone on bone. If I didn't know that in a clinical sense, I felt that. Treated today with a drain and injection of the medium joint bursa

Last I looked there was arthritis in the left shoulder. The left shoulder of a bass-weight-bearing variety. And successfully treated with physical therapy. That bit of foot I happen to need feels better, if not somewhat sore from the morning. And going to say any stage time of mine is going to be best served with a proper seat.

I have one now I use at home, but it's hardly portable. One of those nobby ones I picked up in an imaginary moment of brilliance when I was in physical therapy the last time. Great seat, if you don't need or want something that can be easily transported

Here with feet up comfortably

Good Funk 'n Friday to ya all. All nose and toes accounted for?

Forgot about the toes part. All toes functional save for one very, very black and blue toe on the right foot. A midnight collision with something I didn't expect is the starting point. Got X-rays this morning along with my ankle, and happy enough to learn I didn't break the toe. Looks pretty painful ... But I don't really "do" pain relievers. That's on account of doctor's orders, no OTC pain pills on account of everything else LOL. And don't do prescription pain pills. However when morphine is required, I'm good with that. Today maybe just morphine for the brain. There's a new, unopened, bottle of limoncello in the freezerino

Sweet dreams......

Never did see that Kodak toner. My own darkroom time was black and white. The best part in there was a Leitz enlarger. Had no clue as a kid what was right in front of me. In that thought, I may very well have seen that toner and it skipped, then sunk like a stone tossed on the calm water of my consciousness. The memory may still be resting on the river bed of awareness for fish to pewp on.
Nice, Concertina, er, Contessa!

I didn't use brown toner much, primarily, just for one client who wanted all her prints brown toned. I did fairly regularly use Kodak sepia toner (the real, power stuff, not out of a bottle), and selenium toner for a variety of things, depending on the paper used (usually Ilford MG iV in both RC and fiberbase, but on occasion Bergger, Agfa, or some sort of Luminos).

Leitz, the old can on a stick ones? A friend of mine has a far more modern Leica V35 enlarger that rarely sees use, these days.

I got this folding stool at Walmart. There is also a shorter version.

Our weapon of choice in the ink wars....

View attachment 3596419

Use any color you like but it had better be black.....lol....

Good old Quink. Circa 72 my then-brother-in-law swore up and down by Quink Black. And in truth it's one of the most well-behaved inks ever produced. That's a contrast to Parker's "Superchrome". It plugged pens, plain and simple. Not to be outdone, Parker introduced the upscale Parker Penman ink decades later. It plugged pens.

I find Parker Quink Blue to be very similar to the original Sheaffer Blue. The two companies being what they are, Sheaffer cartridges only fit Sheaffer pens, and Parker Cartridges only fit Parker Pens. (And to be fair, Lamy cartridges only fit Lamy pens, and Lamy ink is also a top drawer performer.)

Sepia ink was my ink of choice at university and as a reporter. Kept a bottle at my desk, by my typewriter, as is proper. Used both. Daily.

Today I'm writing with turquoise ink.

People in 19th century photographs never look to me like they were happy people.

Proceeded on down the hall gettin more injections, inspections detections, neglections and all kinds of stuff that they was doin' to me at the thing there, and I was there for two hours, three hours, four hours, I was there for a long time going through all kinds of mean nasty, ugly things and I was just having a tough time there, and they was inspecting, injecting every single part of me, and they was leaving no part untouched. Proceeded through, and when I finally came to the see the very last man, I walked in, walked in sat down after a whole big thing there, and I walked up and said, "What do you want?"...Arlo

The pain is there to remind you that you’re still alive.
