I have a serious need for information. I was reading the Wiki entry on "hipster culture" and was brought to a screeching halt by the idea that they favor "ironic moustaches". Someone please explain to me how facial hair can be "ironic".

It might be related to drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon beer...the polar opposite of the ‘craft’ beers their peers drink...or perhaps they believe they have no peers...no one nearly as cool as they are...or perhaps they get a giggle out of wearing their cappuccino froth for all the world to admire...

For a µ-second, perhaps. I bought the MS-12, secondhand, at Schoenberg Guitars, and I really don't want to do any mods to it.
How good is this live performance. Great horn section.
What struck me is the high placement of the drum cymbals. The drummer must be an experienced studio musician. It's hard to get drummers to position them high. With the cymbals lower like most drummers like, the drum mics pick them up too much which can requite trimming the high frequencies. Better to address the problem at the source.
Despite other releases of this song, Berry Gordy had to be pressed to put it out. In December of 1968, Marvin's version immediately went to number 1 on the Billboard pop charts for a seven week run.
