Just a personal note here from me.....

Can we cut back a little on the military stuff here?.....Maybe kick off another thread with other vets?....

I was "In" myself....British Army.....Royal Signals......Many Tours....

Don't want to revisit any of that nightmare again......

I'm not looking for a fight with anyone here.....If you think I'm out of line, just ignore me....

Well said Freddy well said. Point taken.
I have a 3 page apology drafted to that exact point that I was going to post. It is not as succinct or well worded as yours so I will not take up space unnecessarily. Suffice it to say that it was never intentional but due to forgetfulness. When I start talking the talk I tend to forget there is a population out there who have no clue as to what I am saying only because they have not experienced it and for that I do apologize.
Last word from me on that subject and I will do my best to speak English the best I can.
Thank you Freddy and I only speak for myself and my faux pax.

I always hated and disagreed with that % body fat calculation program. The USN lost many a good man because of that program. I am 6 foot even and if I tipped the scales 2 pounds over 200 pounds I would be in the fat boy program with a 13% true body fat. That is leaning towards un-survivability territory. Luckily my HMCM was reasonable and arranged every 6 months to have me dipped in the chair at Camp Pendleton. After I made HMCS I turned 40 and it no longer mattered. I never said I agreed with everything but the game had to be played. Just like High Year Tenure. #1 worst program ever developed. Lost 65% of the senior enlisted population in one fell swoop. You can join my unit anytime.

We never did the body mass after Basic. But then, we were always running!

Covering a Peter Gabriel studio mix takes some major stones, and this doesn’t match the perfection of the original.

But somehow, this just draws more attention to one of my all-time favourite bass grooves!

Be still my heart, where’s my octaver?

Welcome to Seductive Saturday:

Who is that on the synthesizer? All that and she can sing too. Can she cook? As was said before be still my heart.
Great cover all the way around. Finally how Jeff Beck of him to have such a good looking back up.
Btw I started on keyboards. Those are not easy runs.

Speaking of COVID19, my wife and I had a cruise booked for May. We just changed the cruise to sail in May of 2021 since I am receiving immuno suppresents.

We’ve been on 35-40 cruises so rescheduling this one is not a big deal.

Royal Caribbean allowed us to change the date with no penalties whatsoever.

We will lose the airfare that has been already paid, but as my wife pointed out, our tombstones won’t say, “At least they saved the airfare.”

Hey guys....Not talking censorship.....Just....errrm....spread out a bit?.....:)
I s'pose I get it. However, we, as GOF's, often get on a subject and talk on it for a few days, then move on. We haven't made anything other than passing references, such as:"when I was in(country)serving with the(branch), I got to tour and see(whatever)" to our respective services for a while(I'm too lazy to go back and check the timeframe). All of us have histories, music related and otherwise, part of mine being music in the military. I'll apologize if the subject offends, but for not my service.

I didn't realize that my daughter was at my door listening to that cover. She asked "How does someone get that good?" I said the same way you get to Carnegie Hall. Turn left at 6th Ave.
She just huffed off saying something about smart comments and never learning.
;[)
I love that girl.

Speaking strictly for myself, I don't feel any exclusion when GOFs talk about anything. What I feel is out of place commenting on anyone's service. I'm gonna go look up "Rockpile" or what have you, learn something about what you (general you) experienced, and it's all good. It is out of respect I don't comment beyond lame shots of levity.

We all have stories to tell and I listen to yours.
I would tell you some of my stories but I am a truly boring individual. Thank you for that round of applause.

Trying to solve a subwoofer problem causing the turntable to skip. I made some soft foam pads and attached them to the things feet. Not perfect but it's now usable. Put on a disk and up came 'Can't You see.' this is one of my favourite tunes but by Marshall Tucker. notwithstanding I started to sing along and my voice was all there. After the disastrous audition with the One King band I really thought I had lost it. I happy, happy, happy!! :)

Good for you, @BassmanPaul

I had announced earlier that I got a new Sterling by Music Man lefty bass, sunburst finish. While it is a beautiful but heavy bass, I can't get the sound I like out of it. It distorts my GK/DNA cab even at 8:00 pre (my MB200 doesn't have gain/master). If I engage the -10db control, the bass loses it's punch. Even with the bass in normal mode, it's signal is inconsistent. Some notes really ring out and some are just lusterless.

My Ibanez basses have a much smoother consistent response. I dunno. I'm 68 now and have always wanted a Music Man bass. Maybe misspent fantasies? I'm thinking my last new bass might be a USA Music Man Sterling lefty. I think in the meantime I'm going to send the Sterling back. Much as I love how it looks and feels, I can't get the uneven signal and distortion under control. Any suggestions, GOF's?

Strling by Music Man is nothing like a Made in SLO Music Man. Return the former and get the latter.
