Deputy Dan knows nothing about safety!
The holster he is wearing is both ill fitted and poorly designed for the firearm he is carrying.
It also appears to lack any level III retention device, and as such, would not receive approval from any LEO department.

Deputy Dan has no friends.

Speaking of Jazz Basses (and that's one fine looking Jazz you have there, Bob, La Bella DTFs?) this is Peter Albin's bass. Met Peter (okay, introduced myself) when he was playing with The Dinosaurs. The bass is even more magnificent in real life.

That is something of a bass. I just looked at it closer. It reminds me of the Hamer that my bass teacher is holding for me until all this sillyness is over. Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of it, if I do Deputy Dan will escort me out of TB and never let me back in. You see that bass is quite special. It was owned by a good friend of Antonio Vargas and he paint his infamous Playboy Vargas girls both front and back. Now GOF's my age and up remember the Vargas girls as I bet they like me had ripped them out of Hef's journalistic venture and hid them between the mattresses of our sleeping utensil. Sadly Antonio is gone and girls are no longer in print and the TB rules and regs will not allow me let you see art for art's sake. But it is one beautiful bass.
2 signed original Vargas and I get a bass too!

Wow! Priceless.

IMHO...
Poet ? Not so much
Musician? Not so much
Singer? Good for the music they played

In that he held back 3 fine musicians with his antics? I'd agree with that.
And heavy drug use will contaminate the mind of anyone.

But somehow, all put together in a recording band, they sounded good and created a few good songs. And I say a few because it's really a handful of tunes that gave them a break and what career they enjoyed.

As for live? Can't say, never saw them. But I always got the impression that
JM was very full of himself.

YMMV
I never understood the hype, myself, but I can say that about several iconic bands that I just never did get into. Being in the Doors was a bit like being typecast as an actor; I don't think anyone in that band was ever taken seriously after that. Manzarek tried to have a solo career, but could only go so far.

I knew a guy who looked and sounded just like Jim Morrison. He was a decent guitarist and a good singer with that distinctive baritone, belonged in a Doors tribute band, really, but wanted to write his own music. Dishonest as the day was long, too. No idea what happened to him.

R.I.P. Sterling.
Sterling the bass, or Starling the agent in Silence of the Lambs?

I'm so stupid I didn't get it.

I will try to be brief. Quit laughing Contessa and Plaid!
If you are referring to my response to the Harps Deadhead graphic Ric Griffin and Stanley Mouse were/are/is very well known psychedelic poster art artists who collaborated on some very iconic pieces. Two of which were just posted. Most when they view the Lightening bolt Skull immediately recognize it as a symbol for the Grateful Dead. The "Flying Eyeball" is the most Expensive Fillmore poster that can be purchased in a first printing. The last sold was auctioned at Sotheby's in London for $18,550. Ric Griffen and Stanley Mouse produced both drawings together and became quite well known. Sterling Moss the famous formula 1 race driver was well known for using the lightening bolt skull on all of his cars in one fashion or another thus raising the artists notoriety and popularity around the world. I really hope I have this correct or I have just caused a unnecessary very painful cramp in my stylus hand. Finally the only way one can purchase a authentic Flying Eyeball today is through the Ric Griffen gallery.
I love Fillmore history. It has such a rich cast of Characters.
Whew!
Bob
