Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Saturday Reprise.

Sound City Studios was an amazing place. A dump that bands kept comming to to give birth to the offspring. The rooms and recording equipment had a unique sound. Wizards practiced magic there. Fleetwood Mac Rumors, Nirvana Nevermind, Neil Young After The Goldrush are but a few of the historic records recorded there. There were 2,500 other albums (Invalid Link Removed) recorded there. The studio was opened in 1969, before that it was a VOX factory. Always a Beatles connection.

Always fun to watch a band playing in a studio. This is Studio 606, Dave Grohl's place. He bought the fantastic Neve console from Sound City and tried to create the Sound City vibe in his studio. Matt Starr is a session drummer in LA, very musical. Turn up the volume.

Despite only weighing about 6 1/2 pounds, my Tacoma begins to feel a bit uncomfy after 3 or 4 hours. Tonight I'm going to try something. I found myself a 17 sq ft piece of sand colored 8 oz bison split hide, very soft and pliable, but thick. Gonna cut a 4 inch wide strap out of that, see how it feels.

Kabbalists embraced reincarnation.

Kabbalah - Wikipedia

Kabbalahists today are known as Hasidic best known for their round hats and curly sideburns and for cornering the gold and jewel markets.
We were forced to read portions of the Zohar and it was just mystical enough that we enjoyed it. Treated it almost like science fiction.
Now you know why no ham on Easter for Bob.

Tonight I roamed off to WWII and read a few interesting threads on the Avro Lancaster and the B-17. Both were formidable bombers with different sets of positive qualities. The Lanc was maneuverable and had powerful engines-- much more than the B-17's. Both had problems with covering their hides against fighter attacks, but the B-17 had an edge on that one. I forgot all about the Avro Lancasters-- I remember when I was a kid they made a movie about the Lancasters on a suicide mission blowing up a plant that was creating heavy water for atomic use. It was called "The Dam Busters."

From the Dam Busters movie.

I think tonight I'm going to watch an old movie called "Superfortress."

Neighbors where I shop are Hasidic, I see different sects from the way that they dress. The ladies all wear the same wigs, they marry at a young age and have children. Older kids are often out minding their brothers and sisters. They have a great sense of family and community. They children are very respectful of others on the street and are always well behaved. I wish all kids were like them.

Bison leather straps are quite nice. I've seen some that have a narrow strap but they have a wider padded shoulder part. I use a neoprene one with a similar design, it's more comfortable on the shoulder.

Get good enough and you can play in a posh studio. That's how it works in Real Life, yes? I would really like music more if not for the business of music.

More than once considered a bison strap from Lakota Leathers Instrument Straps and I've been in a strap-buying frame of mind. Feeling like a good time to do something nice for myself. What I'm actually doing is trying each strap I own for a week so that everyone gets a fair shake. I do have enough straps, but...

And it wasn't until I arrived at TB that I ever gave any thought to a strap. I used the strap that came new with my Stingray and that's where the train pulled into the station. All being of GOF age, arthritis, and next thing you know I've got a new strap. A bit of time in PT fixed the shoulder. Ultrasound works! Well it works for some things and it did the trick for me. And the original strap still feels good, even if it is rather road worn

In the Breaking of the President portion from Firesign Theater, we find do you remember the past? Yes Do you remember the future? Yes Well, forget it!

That's when the fireworks go off and we learn Barney is with a fortune teller LOL LOL

Well, you got me. It's not exactly the fortune teller set I call friends. We're doing something else. What I can say, and have said here, is my third past life workshop was in November, and I received the letter I wrote to myself a few weeks ago. And reporting this: as we closed the field of being present to that aspect of ourselves, I said to the facilitator I finished that life. He replied [paraphrasing] maybe you reconsider that?

Funny thing is, I've always known her. The letter, well.

Maybe a good time to buy a new strap. The other contender is the vintage style, that's where I'm leaning.

The fortune teller's name isn't Mark. He owns a dog with a hairlip ....

We haz the sadz that Dog Days (straps) closed up shop. Lucky to have one and would be all over another. The only problem I have with such visual complexity in a strap like my Dog Days is I need to be careful with what I wear. It doesn't really work with a pink and black striped summer dress. Makes me look like [never mind]

What I am doing today (beside practicing) is henna. It's been pretty close to two months since the last, by my reckoning. I've got the henna releasing its dye now and it'll be ready in about three hours.

This is my prize strap now
