Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I understand. There are other meds that will work without these side effects. The opioid plague has made doctors reluctant to use them. I am not advocating no pain relief.

Yup we have swung too far in the other direction, hopefully it be swing back to normal sooner or later. All drugs are legal here in Peru in small quantities and we have much less of a drug problem here than the US has, seems sometimes the harder you try to keep people from having something the more they want it. The doctors here are also very strict with opiates though, in fact even worse than in the US, my mother-in-law fell and broke her hip last year and at first they gave her Tramadol which really isn't a very good med for moderate to severe pain and the only way she could get Oxycodone was for the doctor to write that she had cancer on the script.
My father passed away about 6 months ago, he was on home hospice and I took care of him, was not a fun time but I'll always be glad I did it.
Good luck and sorry for the problems you're having. I wonder if it was just incompetence or something worse with those doctors, I've never heard of that happening.

My dad was in the aviation industry and I picked up a lot by osmosis(like Donny and Marie osmo....never mind). There were a lot of very inside jokes in that flick that cracked me up and most folks didn't get. My favorite being the running gag of every time they showed the outside of the jet, they had the sound of a propeller plane.

It's Walpurgisnact tonight

Any who recall Night on Bald Mountain in Disney's Fantasia know what Walpurgisnacht is. May 1 is the celebration of Beltane. The actual cross-quarter occurs at 01:49 Irish time on May 5. My friends ask me to join in virtual celebration, as there is no physical gathering this year on Uisneach Hill.

I happen to have the perfect contribution for the fires. :woot:

I don’t look forward to May 1.

In my neighborhood it brings out mayday protesters whose sole purpose is smashing retail windows, to provoke a riot and a confrontation with the police. Of course, they are also there to protest against police brutality. Their well organized goal is to garner media attention. The media should ignore them but they are there with bells on. They are just a step above the protesters. The people protesting are mostly well to do student socialists, not anyone who has suffered in life. They want to have fun day socializing and make selfie memories to talk about later in life.

I wish that these people would choose somewhere else to disrupt. Maybe they can knock down a newspaper office or disrupt people where the protesters live. Hopefully, it will be covid-cancelled this year. The weather is cooperating, lots of rain tomorrow. Good for mother nature!

Over at Glastonbury Tor people are asked to stay home BUT of course people are angry about their "freedom" being restricted. Last year at Market Cross

I like traditions, espicially those that promote hope. Sacrificing life shouldn’t be tolerated, nor should violence.

There are a lot of religious holidays here in Lima, every year there are parades for Holy Week between April 5th and the 11th, it was cancelled this year, but I can't imagine carrying this thing all over the place. Everything is closed here except for supermarkets and pharmacies even the airport is closed to outside traffic. I was supposed to head back to MA this month but I think I'm safer here:laugh: so I'll stay for at least a few more months. Lima is a city of approx 10 million people, with the window open it's like being in the middle of a Forrest, not a sound can be heard especially at night, no private cars are allowed and only a few buses and taxis are allowed during the day.
