This is my big car. Maybe that's why the Pontiac doesn't feel big?

Dude! You got corner light poles out front!

I bought it from the estate of an old lady who used to tow a trailer and lived in Florida most of the year, those are for people behind the trailer I believe, they're lights. I was going to take them off they were so ugly but when I turned on the lights I realized they were running and turn signal lights and I just had to leave them on, i love that thing, it's like driving a Cadillac station wagon and it doesn't handle like a big car, it moves too. It's old enough that I now get thumbs up from people when I'm driving it.

When I was a kid (18 as I recall) I built up a '64 Pontiac Lemans. 428 C.I. engine , 3 x 2's , and a 4.10 posi rear. Got somewhere around 6 miles to the gallon and wouldn't think of running on anything less than premium gas. About 5 years ago , I built another one (a '63 this time) with a 400 C.I. motor and a 4.56 rear. I guessing the mileage was similar to the first one but as I never got the speedometer or odometer working in it there was really no way to tell for sure. Hard on the wallet but they sure were fun to drive. Both ran a high 12 quarter mile in street trim. My driving record from the old days filled three typed pages. This included three times being restricted to driving for work only and one outright six month suspension. I remember getting out of one ticket by offering the cop a drive in the '64. Ahh , the good old days.

I had a 78 w/ 855 ci, 3.90 rears that got about 5.5 mpg. 1/4 mile in ~30 seconds.(Freightliner COE)

In one small town that I lived in there was Ken the cop. He was a car guy and would pull over rods and muscle cars to check out what’s under the hood. Ken drove an early 60’s red vette that was pretty cool.

Started the day with a good long walk with Odin.

My day actually started when I went outside to the dog yard first when it was his time for morning relief. Papa fox was darting in the corner. I turned to see if I could open the gate to let him out, turned, and saw he was gone.

Lots of fun as Odin fixed on the many squirrels we came across. Glad dogs can't fly. We went by rabbit's home but didn't see anyone.

Always a freshness in the air, especially in the morning.
