Most of my hearing problems are in the mids (think road and wind noise, running water, that general area of the frequency band, coincidentally, right in the general speech range), so it is not easy for me to understand speech unless spoken fairly loudly. Masks make it so much more difficult for me to hear/understand what someone is saying. This gets magnified when the person speaking has a speech impediment, something that became quite clear to me when I could not understand, at all, what someone was saying to me so she removed her mask - her speech did not really become any easier for me to understand, even then.

We go on mask lockdown tomorrow and from here on in. There are accepted exceptions for those with medical conditions such as asthma or other health conditions or disabilities preventing them from wearing masks. People that can’t hear well get an exemption. I don’t get that one. If I have to lip read, isn’t it everyone else that shouldn’t wear a mask?

There are apparently people with fake mask exemption cards. Much like wheelchair parking. Anti-lockdown groups that oppose new mandatory mask bylaws have started producing plastic “face mask medical exemption” cards to avoid wearing a mask in closed public spaces. Who knew.

Speaking of people that do not hear well, consider this...I wear glasses, behind the ear hearing aids and have COPD. It is difficult to get a mask on and keep it on, but I do it to protect others and, hopefully, myself. What these others a doing is totally uncaring and stupid IMHO.

Completely agree. Rocks are hard, water's wet, science is science. Wear a damn mask. I have COPD, heart disease (2 new stents last month, starting cardiac rehab next week), more heart procedures than hot dinners, kidney issues and lymphoma in remission. Covid is probably not something I would recover from.

Masks on other’s are a nightmare for people that are hard of hearing. Conversations require a lot of repeating. My wife has impaired hearing and doesn’t alway remember to speak loud enough or clearly. So at times it’s hard for me to hear. My problem is seeing without my specs which I usually don’t wear unless driving.

I recall being made up various times as either a Vulcan, Dracula, or Frankenstein. Oh, and as a mime in a short lived surf band, nobody sang. Then there was a greaser band. Never did glam rock.

Any other costumes were just how I dressed, still have a hawaiian shirt and a bowling shirt somewhere.

I bought a skin tight wool Navy uniform top once that looked something like this years ago, I wore it to a gig as a shirt ONE time.

Two kids got busted here in Lima today for making bootleg negative coronavirus test certificates. They had about 40 when they got caught.

Scrubs are comfortable. I prefer the Ric body contouring like you have to remove the sharp edge. Mine with binding can rake on your body.

Scrubs make good jammies. I've a set of scrubs in powder blue that's seldom worn. The bottoms are too long by a country mile. The scrubs were a gift from the staff when I left rehab after my knee replacements. I seldom wear the top. What I did sometimes wear at work was a loose white overshirt that suggested a doctor's mien. Which is not all that far from what I do anyway.

The rauna I was gifted from a Colombian friend four decades ago in Fat City has seen stage wear. It may again?

Yeah, 15 other guys and I used to wear that to all our gigs. USN Unit Band 186, USS Yorktown[CV(S)-10]and, 2nd cruise, USS Enterprise[CVA(N)-65]. Later shore duty, 6th Naval District Band, USNAB, Charleston, SC. No, I didn't make chief-MU2.

I have never had a problem with the edges on mine, course it's been so long since I bought my first one I can't remember, I do know I had trouble with the stupid cap in the bridge pickup circuit though.

With nothing on underneath? I don't like wool anyway but I never wore it again after playing all night in a hot sweaty club with wool next to my skin all night, it fit me like a glove though and looked good but I will only do so much for fashion.

Disco is still played on the radio here, I've heard most of their tunes here at one time or other which is one of the reasons I started listening to SiriusXM again.
