The dress code rules of more than one employer were stricter than the dress code rules of some of our clients. A new rule was instituted. Employees on a client site were to dress according to the client's dress code. Helped some of us "blend in". Corporate work clothes are expensive.

There's a place I know where the hipsters go called Bedrock

Not to be confused with the other older and more well know Bedrock....

Partaking in local customs can be part of business. Goat eyes are considered a delicacy and may be served to a guest of honor. You smile and swallow so as to not offend.

What I wanted to wear and what I was allowed to wear at 14 are chasms apart :roflmao:
Share some examples. :)
They eased up the dress code before I started boarding school in 72. All weekday dinners were semi-formal attire, with casual attire for classes.
Did you go up and ask for more, please?

This is scary close to the look, the vibe, if not correctly pinpointed in time.

This is more the vibe I had in mind for myself. Oh and really wanted orange fishnet stockings.

None in my memory every asked for a second helping of beef stroganoff. Except that's not what we called it.

First day at boot camp, going to breakfast: they have "creamed chipped beef on toast points" or SOS. I happen to really like that [stuff]. I ask if I can have more. Guy serving looked at me like I was nuts(possibly). "You want more of this [stuff]?" "Yup", says I. Other guys in the company immediately decide I'm weird(documented).

Wow, an actual Leslie inside shot? The only part I ever saw before was the revolving horn, thought there would be more to the insides considering what comes out of that thing!
I used to own one that got moved at least twice a day, sometimes 4x. With things getting jarred out of adjustment fairly often, I became far more familiar with the 'guts' than I ever wanted to. PITA.

I leave schlepping heavy equipment to others.

Some churches do have incense burners. Maybe that’s where bands got the idea for smoke machines.

Those are the services I knew as "smells and bells". When some churches ended Latin services, you'd have thought someone put a McDonald's in the Taj Mahal.
