Wow, an actual Leslie inside shot? The only part I ever saw before was the revolving horn, thought there would be more to the insides considering what comes out of that thing!
In this one, the bottom left is a tube power amp, the preamp is in the organ. A heavy multi wire cable carries the wall voltage and signal wires to the Leslie. The power amp feeds a crossover and splits to a 15” bass speaker the high frequency horn. You see two horns but one is a dummy. There are motors, a big pulley below, smaller in above and belts that drive the bottom and top rotors. The bin on the bottom is a scoop that throws sound out. Sometimes there’s a cloth bag over it. The top and bottom turn at different speeds and in opposite directions. The Leslie itself has a fast and slow speed control, and off. Overall, there is both amplitude (volume) and frequency sound modulation.
