I still use the phonetic alphabet when providing information on the phone. It used to be you could spell in front of animals but they understand what you are trying to conceal.

I watch that movie every time it comes on...the acting was brilliant. I also love The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen and The Caine Mutiny and always try to catch them whenever they're playing. I feel like it's fate telling me to take a break!
The African Queen is, by far, my favorite movie. Can't get enough of it.

Yep, been using ever since the Army taught it to me. My flight instructor back in the early 90s was mightily impressed he didn't have to learn it to me.

I don't always use all the letters, but I usually do Mike and November, Foxtrot and Sierra-especially over the phone. 'Course about half the time I get "huh?".

Yeah, I try to do it the right way: "M, Mike", not "M as in Mike". I still get some people cornfused.
