Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Some Fenders have staggered pole pieces. Different magnet lengths provide different strengths on each string to compensate for any lack of oomph. If your Squire doesn't have the staggered poles, maybe changing the pickups would help. If it does, a heavier G and D string gauge might help.
Actually, I intend to sell it.

What a weekend. My two main bands both had gigs after quite a layoff. One had a gig a few weeks ago but it was with a sub as our stellar guitarist was out on sick leave (back now , alive and kickin') and without him it just wasn't the same. We hadn't worked together since before the shut downs so we were all really chompin' at the bit. Best gig I think we have ever played so that was fun.
Yesterday (Sunday) Seahag grabs me around noon and says "Get in the car." She wields a heck of a frying pan so I have learned not to question statements like that. Off we went to the local airport that was having a small air show. The big draw was a B 17. You could go through it and they were also giving rides in it. The rides started at $400. and went up to $800 so I had to pass on that part. They had several "Flying Boxcars there (they were built locally years ago) and when I got through one of them I ended up talking with a guy about them for about a half hour. When I came out , Seahag walked up to me and shoved a purple card with the number 8 on it. "What's this?"
"Its a ticked to go up in one of those P 19 open cockpit trainers and you're next." Coolest plane ride I have ever been on. About 40 minutes at about 2000 feet and the weather was perfect. I had a head set that I could talk to the pilot and also hear the air traffic control. About ten minutes into the flight I mentioned that I had flown years ago with my dad in his Piper Cherokee. The pilot asked if I wanted to take it for a while. SURE :woot:. I got to fly the thing for about 15 minutes. After that was over we hung around the show for about another hour and got to watch the B17 fire up and take off. What an awesome plane.
After it went out of sight , Seahag said she was hungry so we plied into the car and headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant. They make the BEST Margaritas there I have ever had. Two tacos and 4 margaritas later we left and I came home and passed out.
I believe I experienced the perfect day yesterday.

Nice yeard to enjoy! Being able to look at the mature trees must make it all the better.

The leaves are starting to tinkle down. A bit of cold is better than the sweltering humid summer. Not looking forward to the snow. I've already started stockpiling covid winter provisions. Froze some fresh corn cut from the cob on the weekend.

Yup! I just recently purchased that strip of land with the trees on it. I have dubbed it "North Park".
And just finished painting the fence...big job!

I always stock up for the colder days.

Wow that ride will be something that you'll remember all your life. Like you, I wouldn't have been able to dig into the mexican food till after the flight. Loosing your lunch is so embarrasing.

Ain't nuthin' quite like the sound of 4 Wrights grabbin' some air.:hyper:

Yeah, I think I started watching it in '51. Thus, once again, proving I'm a documented olde phart.
I was more like in '56. Clutch Cargo, Paddlefoot and Spinner. Tom Terrific. The Lone Ranger. The Cisco Kid (filmed down the hill in Sedona). Saturday morning b/w TV. Was a miracle to me. I had moved from a place at the end of a dirt road, 1.5 miles from the next house, with a 1-holer out back, a water pump handle at the kitchen sink and a crank party line phone. No radio. No TV. Nada. So Saturday morning TV pretty much totally amazed me.

I watch that movie every time it comes on...the acting was brilliant. I also love The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen and The Caine Mutiny and always try to catch them whenever they're playing. I feel like it's fate telling me to take a break!
Bit of trivia that I learned while vacationing on Moorea (visible from Tahiti (in the left background); shortest flight I was ever on; the windows in the plane were open!). This photo was taken facing south. The movie The Caine Mutiny was filmed in the bay on the left. I stayed at the resort with the overwater bungalows in the center. The northern face of the volcano had collapsed and fresh rainwater runs down into the 2 bays and outward to the reef, where it kills the coral, creating two gaps in the reef that you can drift dive! One VERY laid back vacation.

Pic doesn't show up for me.

...Ibanez SR1200L VNF ..... For some reason, the active mode of the pickups is half as loud as the passive.
Is there an internal gain control on the preamp? If so, it may be set too low.
Villains often had moustaches. Not just in the movies but real life as well.

After four margaritas, they all are the best, aren't they? :D
