Obviously she knew you better than most of us...:roflmao::roflmao:.

During first date nights (if I was home) i would sit in the living room in my camoflaged uniform cleaning my AR-15 (rifle) and my sidearm (1911 45 Cal ACP). When the young man would be brought in to meet me I would say MmmmHmmm. Midnight correct?!
My daughter would say "DADDY STOP IT!!!" Then quietly to the young man "Don't mind him he's just a JERK!" The last word as loud as she could get it out. I would just chuckle.
I guarandamtee she got home exactly at Midnight every time.
This is her getting even.
I love it!

I see today my foot now has two (non-adjustable) truss rods, so I'm a Rickenbacker?

This marks the first time in my life my foot has been in alignment o_O

Maybe you aren’t that far off with the analogy. Sounds like the one week post-op checkup went well.

Do you think that airport metal detectors are going to light up like a Christmas tree?

This daughter (My oldest) did get me back though. The last first she had while I was home she brought the young man in to meet me and as usual I asked my question and she immediately said "I would like you to meet Corporal Ray Mc**** USMC!" We just looked at each other and then busted up laughing. He has been my Son In Law for the last 20 years.

Airports, courthouses, all of them. I already carry an electronic card certifying I carry suspension parts from Fred Sanford's truck in both of my knees. The magic card lives in my RFID-blocking wallet.

It took a lot of looking to find a passport wallet I actually like. Most are pretty useless, IMO. At length I found one that suits. Full healing is indicated before I use it. But it's there and ready, same as I.

Absolutely,,, NOT! She was her mother's daughter. For those who do not know my late wife was a lass born and raised in Cork Ireland. I learned quickly to be very wary if I heard the phrase BOY OH! my daughter uses that phrase to this day to, at the very least, get my attention.
I love my girls.

No need. They are 42, 40, 35, 28. First date nights are long gone. Also they are spread across this fair Nation. Happily with SO's long term.
Finally I haven't put on a uniform since 01/01/01.
But makes for great memories, stories, and posts.

I can see BOTH sides of this. I'm ALSO a former FMF Corpsman (HM3 that got out back in 1988) and I had a girl I was way too in to in high school that took me a couple weeks to get up the nerve to ask her out. She responded far more eagerly than I expected. When I went to pick her up, I discovered her dad was a Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy and I had to sit in the living room with him while he was cleaning ALL his guns. Around twelve years later he was one of my patients. When I noticed his last name and saw the small town newspaper from my old home town on the over bed table, I knew who he was. It turns out Susan never had a second date until she moved out.

When my wife and I were sharing an apartment (with our 5 kids from previous marriages), her ex gave her a bunch of grief one day when picking up his kids. I was asleep at the time (night worker) and she had to threaten to wake me to get him to behave. I made it a point to be awake and cleaning my 1911 when he came by the following week. No problems after that.

Might I say as others on TB will attest I am always excited to converse with one or more of my brothers whether we agree or agree to disagree. There is a special bond between Marines and Corpsman but it is multiplied 10 fold between FMF Corpsman. I am honored to respond to this post. It is rare that 2 FMF Corpsman get a chance to meet and talk. It is even rarer if they both play bass. I relate these stories for the humor towards me and my inappropriate methods that should have been left at the gate.
I am truly sorry for Susan and for you as well and that includes the first dates that had the misfortune to encounter me. Master Chief "Jerk" as I have been called many times by 4 beautiful young ladies in my house hold.
With that said it was what it was. I am proud to say my Son In Law the Gunnery Sargent is my best friend today.
It took me about an hour and a half to compose this drivel of a response and I hope at least 1% made a little sense.

A sign like that can taunt a dog. Even a tough dog will cry like a baby at the thought of a treat from a burger place.

Hope she doesn't make a habit of that. Her vet bills could be a lot more that if she just gave proper dog food.

Vet bills???
I think her most pressing concern is not picking up the nickname "Stumpy"!! ;)
