I grew up a half hour north of Poughkeepsie.

I have a lot of family in that area. Parents grew up near Hudson and I grew up in Selkirk...

The nice thing about that region is that in a day you can round trip to a lot of places.

Thanks for the idea, Will! Off to write a song that will alternate in those time sigs. I think I'll call the new song "145". Should work, okay; an old friend of mine who was a great keyboardist/compos(t)er wrote songs such as "The Eleven Song", and "Seven-Eleven" (nothing convenient about that!).

Since then I've seen a video of Cornick playing a short scale in closed position like this guy, and even saw a vid of a guy starting with his pinky on D on the E string. No wonder keyboard players roll their eyes. And I never did nail that strumming part.

Like a shawl, I have a wool blanket/throw from Scotland. Made with recycled wool. They are used in the UK by the horsey crowd outside when watching shows. Nice and warm to pull over you while sitting on a cold day. Dogs like them too.

Well, speaking of being comfortable, I ordered a pair of Levi’s overalls today. It helps with lower back pain to not have the pressure of a waistband. I’ll try them this winter when I start slipping on the ice.

I used to wear a yellow overall in my younger days as part of a rain suit when I drove a motorcycle.

There were reports that towards the end, Marlon Brando took to wearing Mumu's because they were so comfortable. And a straw hat. That's all I want to know about that.

I tend to get things once I’ve see them. I can learn by ear but visuals stick in my brain. When I go to show, I can go home and quickly pick the songs up.

Hemp is an amazing fabric. They can make rope with it as well as other products. Kind of like corn in that respect. Farmers in states where dope is legal can grow it. But what they grow doesn’t have much THC potency. All farmers should be allowed to grow this crop.

It's probably been eradicated by now, but there used to be patches of hemp around here from the times when it wasn't against the law to grow and possess it. Little or no THC content, for sure. We used to call it 'ditch weed'.

We learned on hemp climbing ropes circa 73. I'm still here.

My foot and bones are healing, but not healed. Got a fresh dressing and orders to keep my foot dry until I return next week. Climbing the western col from the laundry room with a medical boot is like using one crampon.

My wife’s grandmother was on a parallel ship travelling to North America when the Titanic went down. They wanted to take the Titanic but couldn’t afford the passage. Instead they took a cargo ship.

BTW, Titanic was properly called RMS Titanic, RMS standing for Royal Mail Ship.
