I always take care to go ̶t̶o̶p̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ without a hat.

I recall Jethro’s Restaurant, The Happy Gizzard, where granny and Elly May worked topless.

Years ago, chairs used to have doilies over the back to prevent greasy hair from soiling the fabric. People had a lot of bad hair days. They wore hats. Today the excuse is a hat serves as a sunblock.

My guess is Johnny Cash's pomade never made contact with his guitars. Or, I hope so. Pomade is doggy stuff.

Even a standard poodle can have a bad Elvis hair day.

Johnny Cash wanted a black Martin guitar. Mr. Martin wouldn’t allow a beautiful top to be painted black. They made it for him in the factory and snuck it out the back for Johnny. When he saw how well it went over Mr. Martin relented.

The best Sitka spruce is used for airplanes and acoustic soundboards. It grows in the cold climate of Alaska.

Cool having been in the Spruce Goose. Sitka revolutionized the aviation industry in the early days.

Sad to hear Fender announced that there is becoming a shortage of swamp ash due to floods, hurricanes, etc. All my life I knew most guitars were swamp ash.

As for browsers, there's a new company that is anti-tracking and pro privacy. It's called brave browser.

On this right here very TB page, Apple's Safari browser v.14.0.1 for Mac reports that it prevented 9 trackers from profiling me.

It’s cold enough to get some snow/freezing rain. Rochester always seems to be hit with snow storms that nearby areas don’t.

I bought what seemed like a mint condition 1994 Buick Roadmaster Sedan with 28,000 miles on it in Buffalo about 10 years ago. I had it for a few months and had to jack it up for some reason one day and the jack went right through the frame. Someone had put some goo on it and painted the rusty frame black, car couldn't be repaired, I was highly irritated. The seller I bought it from said that it had to have been that way when he bought it, sure thing Jacko. I sold it for about 1/4 what I paid for it and the guy who bought it complained even though I had put suspected bad frame in the ad. I suspect it had sat in someone's yard for years on grass and just slowly rotted away.

Engineers define risk as probability multiplied by consequence. Sometimes we use Dollars, sometimes fatalities.

The "risk" of a light bulb going out in a refinery control room is low because although the probability is high (light bulbs in continuous use might last a year or two), the consequence is trivial (the cost of installing a new lightbulb) and we can mitigate it further by having multiple light sources, even standby generators if vital.

The world's longest-lasting light bulb has been burning for nearly 120 years. Here are 10 household items that lasted way longer than you'd think.

Sometimes a car’s time simply comes. A fix might have been to weld new steel plates on. But you need the tools. It’s interesting to see how they repair and reinforce frames in some shops in Pakistan. These guys earn their pay.

I had a Nova that had body mounts attaching the frame and the body. One day I went to a shop, they lifted the car. The mounts failed, body went up a foot, the frame stayed on the ground. Against their advice, I drove the car home, ordered a set of six mounts and replaced them. It was a BIG job with my tools, working on the street. I was told that this was common with these cars.

That "lightbulb over the head" moment doesn't last a fraction of that time for most, if one ever arrives. How many Great Idea Watts does it take to be loud enough for my band?

Depends on whether they're Tube Great Idea watts, or Solid State Great Idea watts!
Don't even get us started on what class Solid State Great Idea watts! :D
