Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I recall an article saying that urban red foxes have diverged from their country counterparts. Brain size is smaller and their snout shape helps them to forage for food in the city environment. They are on a fast track to domestication. There are YT channels where people keep foxes as pets in their homes. There are many challenges in doing this. Even when raised from babies, they have a wild streak in them that comes out at times.

Are you sure that you’re not talking about bass players?

Not quite domesticated

Occasional wild streak

Forages for food

Sounds like a bass player to me.

I know the action, just never knew the official name (new paragraph is what always comes to mind to avoid run-of-the word).

What a Wall-O-Words that post was!

Presently reminded of a professor of American literature who required all papers to be typewritten on one side of a single sheet of paper, double spaced. His official position was if you can't write it in one page, you don't what you're talking about. His suspected unofficial position was a great deal fewer pages of papers to be read.

Edit. This is the same professor who returned a paper to a student with a coin taped on the corner. The note read Use this to call your parents and tell them you don't belong here.

I used to do guest lecturing at a number of schools re: CS topics. In the middle of my presentations, I would ask a simple question. The rules were that the person who wanted to answer had to provide the answer in no more than 3 sentences and could not include any benefits (e.g., It allows you to...). Students thought it would be easy until they tried. A typical question I might would be, “Under the covers, what is the difference between a function and a subroutine - aka a void function?”

At the end of my presentation, I explained the importance of the rules. At some point in the future they would want to “sell an idea” to a coworker or their boss. Possessing the ability to quickly answer a question while dropping all of the BS enabled them to close the sale more often than they otherwise would.

Turkeys don’t seem to be very bright. A flock on the road will run down the road away from the car but they won’t simply move off to the side. They are lucky that I’m patient. Some would run them down.
Except when hunting season starts. Wild turkeys require real skill to hunt. At least the ones in the Ozarks. But, man, were they tasty!
