Euro metro cops used to be happy with a VW Bug.
Honest truth: When we moved from Ketchikan to Sitka in 1967 the Sitka Police used a couple VW buses for their cars. Not long after that one smart aleck bought a VW bus and attached two piggy banks to theroof on a metal bar with lights in them. The next year the police chief switched to Fords or Lincolns, I don't remember which one.

The snow cometh, it's overcast and the wind is picking up. In the old days, some lived in remote log cabins in isolation. They longed for the spring when they could make an anticipated trip into town. Sometimes cabin fever would set in, they go stir-crazy. If they were lucky, they had a well leafed through Sears catalogue to read beside a lamp. Otherwise they lived in a well worn book.

Grey Owl, a trapper, writer, and conservationist who died in 1938. He led an interesting life, a man ahead of his time.

Lived a unique piece of history. Of course here in the future, living in strange times is like a hobby for the recalcitrant.

I've watched bus drivers in Milan casually total cars that are inconveniently parked :jawdrop:
I watched an American tank take out the living room of a house in Germany during the Reforager exercise in 1971. The street in a small German town along the Czech border went around a large bay window-like living room of an old 2-story stone house. The tank driver didn't. Lazy mf. I was on courier duty with a briefcase handcuffed to my wrist, so I could only sit there in disbelief and disgust.
