Joss Stone sure has a lot of fans. I struggle to be one of them. Maybe it's because: a) the first time I heard her perform was on this Live at Ronnie Scott's set, and b) that same set features Imogen Heap, whose contribution blew Joss's out of the water in my opinion.

Since you were nice enough to post up the whole show, I would encourage everyone to hit up "Since We've Ended As Lovers" at the 10:20 mark, and check out Tal's bass solo at the 11:45 mark. Really choice.
(Tal's no slouch, ya know......).

For those who haven't yet seen this concert, I most heartily endorse it as a worthwhile expenditure of time. Get set up with your best audio, cause the sound is great.
Plus, there's lots of footage of Vinnie Colaiuta being Vinnie Colaiuta! :D

Sorry, I can't "like" your post. I truly dislike the taste of Vienna Sausage. I suppose that one could cover it with enough barbecue sauce such that the taste of the product disappears.
Try hoisin sauce.

My Bride, the person who loves to cook, and cooks every day, has recently said unkind words when referring to our crock pot.

Suggestions?

We have had one for many years, now. Wonderful, and versatile.

To make the perfect pot of beans

assuming you have a bean pot as is well and proper
but a slow cooker will work
Philistine

Build layers of beans with salt pork and onion:
beans - onion - beans - salt pork - beans - onion- beans - salt pork
~ six hours in a cool oven should do it.
so make it the way you want so long as you start here ^

I don't have a crock pot. I slow bake in the oven in a creuset pot which is probably about the same. I have slow cooked beans, there's a ceramic bean pot with a lid that I've used to bake beans in an oven. A crock pot would work way better in terms of power consumption.

As for the crock pot marketing board, they've done a very good job. Hardly anyone cooks alligator or crocs but many have a pot on standby. Since I'm told that alligator tastes like chicken, I'd bet that chicken would work well in a crock pot.

Does she dislike slow cookers in general, or is she hinting for a new one?

hardly any 'hinting'
It seems our crockpot runs hot...drys stuff out...it's almost certainly time for a new one.

Is anyone in love with theirs?

I'd like to bring a new one home...but I ought to at least Look like I know what I'm doing... :)

All Breville appliances, like Jeff said, are excellent. You couldn't go wrong there.

We use our crockpot a lot. Many different recipes. We have a very little one too that holds just enough for two servings, very little leftovers.
