Sail power, I'm with Croz on this one.

Fortunately I know an old salt who was (eventually) able to explain to me why a captain would order a ship to Wear To. Square rigger stuff. TL;DR it's easier.

During the very early days of commercial flight, the FAs were required to be RNs. It allayed the fears of the passengers - for the most part.
Personally my fears would have been better allayed if they had all been emergency medicine MD's and also qualified to pilot the type/model/series aircraft they served in...just in case... :)

Carey and I don't own a boat. One weekend, we were feeling silly, and bought a small inflatable rubber raft from True Value. We took the raft to Swan Lake (here in Sitka) and proceeded to paddle around the lake. Evidently we got too close to a pair of swans, and one of them came up to me and started beating the H3LL out of me with their wings! And biting my arms! Carey tried to pull an oar out of the paddle holder but didn't get it out in time. After he beat me up, he shook off his wings, snorted at me and left. I was so humiliated! Beaten up by a swan!

Well, I was upset so we went home and got our two 100 pound dogs and brought them to Swan Lake. I told them to go get the swans but they couldn't keep up. It was pretty funny, and the dogs had fun. The next day, Carey looked at my arm and exclaimed, "you're all black and blue on both arms and elbows from the swan!" Needless to say, that ended our nautical days on Swan Lake.

Sounds like it was almost your swan song.

(I'll show myself out)

Ayuh. Squirrels and chipmunks are just rats with good PR. Deer are just hooved rats. ;)
If you live around chipmunks (ground squirrels; I call them chipmunks to differentiate the word for my dogs; a squirrel is one of those big Abert's squirrels that are all over Flagstaff), you realize very quickly that they are destructive little buggers. They won't invade your house. They'll just dig tunnels under everything that matters to you. When one decided to add a south entrance to his multiple east and west tunnel mouths, he started digging out under my driveway pavers. That's when I declared war. I plugged everyone of his tunnels except the highest one, and flooded the lot. Never saw him again. My dogs took out the rest!

Here's a nice cut of Joss Stone singing it, with Jeff Beck and Tal Wilkenfeld behind her....Tal gets some very tasty bass into it.

Joss Stone sure has a lot of fans. I struggle to be one of them. Maybe it's because: a) the first time I heard her perform was on this Live at Ronnie Scott's set, and b) that same set features Imogen Heap, whose contribution blew Joss's out of the water in my opinion.

I just like Jeff Beck. Anyone that plays with him is ok in my book.

Amen Bro. Gotta take drastic measures. For me it's woodchucks.
