Summer as observed in The States begins next weekend, officially, with picnics at the marble orchards and all what. Summer as observed in practical terms for me begins this morning. Summer's here (when the time is right) okay I'm not dancing in the streets. I am going to grower's market with bare legs for the first time this year. Can you say Braun? I knew you could

Yummies ahoy

OR you can skip the Braun and go with bear legs. ;)

Boy, it sure seems as though there are a lot of Casino apps for the phones these days being advertised on TV. They have to make sure that you have every possible opportunity to feed your gambling addiction 24 hours a day. Is that just around me or are you noticing that, too?

Can't help but get beaten over the head with it Every night now that the station that broadcasts the Braves has sold its naming rights to Bally 'Sports Gaming'.

I have 99 vices, but gambling ain't one of them.

Bally's Sports Betting Deals Are Much Bigger Deal Than You Think

Isn't that what ladies call a "skort"? And her stockings look quite sheer!

Plus, it looks like they are just crying out for a bass player. Opportunity knocks!
.
I think he's wearing the compression stockings and her legs are sheer. Look at her toes, they're bare. Nice tan though. I don't know what a skort is though. That would be a @Morrighan question.

A skort is shorts with a front panel to make it appear to be a skirt. Nobody but nobody believe a skort is a skirt. The blue skort I own was for physical therapy after the bilateral knee replacements. Bare legs are necessary when they do the measurements to see how far I can bend each knee
OW OW OW OW OW
that is absolutely excruciating :dead:

The gentleman in compression stockings teaches music as a private, secular primary school. Do I play fretless? Need the speed bumps, I say. He laughs. He's got a guy who plays the doghouse but not today. Give him a business card, and tip

Yeah, the Bluegrass Jam I (used to) play with would prefer an UB, but they graciously accept electric when no UB is available. I was invited to play for some of the fiddlers' contests if I had an UB, but alas not. Electrics are not allowed at state fiddle contests. :(

This will not end well. Ads for Fan Duel or Draft Kings during baseball games, golf tournaments...Thomas Boswell, one of the best baseball writers ever, said it's only a matter of time before there's a betting console at every seat, and you'll be able to bet whether the next pitch is a ball or a strike. As ever, the team owners will rake in lots of money, as will Major League Baseball, the PGA Tour and other sports organizations at the expense of their fans. In general, the fans will get into all kinds of financial trouble, but the bets will keep going because of hope. Lots of people will suffer. I can foresee a huge rise in personal bankruptcies, investigations, eventually congressional hearings. And not much will get done, because in this country making a buck sometimes seems to be its whole reason for being. Corporations spend lots of money buying influence and "supporting" politicians to make sure the money tap keeps flowing. All these corporations and PACs ought to give thanks every day that I don't rule the world.

Watch a TV (non-cable) thing today and you get 10-12 ads (or more) every 10 minutes in a "break". (Actually today it's the programming that's become the 'break' now!). Usta be when TV started they used radio show standards; one sponsor a show with a beginning, middle, and an ending ad and that was it! -But then the greed set in...
Main ads today (IMO): Number 1= Drugs. (Tell your doctor how to treat you!!) Number 2= Cars. (All driving way up and over mountain trails where they have no right to be!) Number 3= Gambling casinos and apps. (All the gambling houses must be going broke; -they have SOOOO MANY winners!!)

I'm afraid much of our culture is turning into garbage... And what's worse is the kids think this is normal, is the way it's s'posed to be... Which means it's only gonna get a lot worse!!
Bah!! Hucksters and con men everywhere, and bragging about how they fleece us too...
Do Not Enjoy,

I got popping veins and the pain that comes with it. Such is life, walking a lot helps.

Those socks are pretty common, better than a stroke or dying. When my mom had a stroke, the doctor told her, you have a choice, live in these or die.

I'd say that the majority of runners that I see wear compression leggings or knee highs as well as upper body and even arm compression. Serious runners train on the extreme trails in the park, they look the part. Same goes for people training on bikes.

Same goes for people riding on planes.

Real Life ™ conversation, verbatim:

My doctor: Compression stockings or surgery.
Me: Compression stockings.
My doctor: Right choice.

My legs do pretty well here at 65, for all what time does to a body. The epilator doesn't hurt near what one may believe. Different areas are more sensitive than others. Compression stockings are totally easy in the winter. Much less so in the summer.
