Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

My car has Apple CarPlay built in, I have my music on a solid state drive. I doesn’t work that well, it seems to be buggy and there haven’t been any updates in three years from GM. I spoke to people at GM, they are clued out. The software comes from somewhere else.

I think that the issue is that I have too much music. It results in indexing problems. I have tried it both with a wire to my phone and using the car’s wifi. It works but the phone’s screen is too small to see the songs or search. So I don’t use it.

Due to these technical issues, I prefer CD’s. I made hundreds just for the car, well thought out track listings. Get the new car and no CD player. GM doesn’t want me using one. Got to look at USB CD players I suppose.
Good luck on that. I couldn't find any.

The memory available is my limitation. The library is fairly large, my solid state itunes music drives are TeraByte. No problem with the computer but CarPlay is flakey with large devices. Sometimes it works, other times the indexing gets confused, it indexes when I insert them, and it doesn’t see all the songs or plays the wrong ones.
So far I'm good with Sirius/XM. If something comes on that sux(IMO), I change channels. Plus I have one thumb drive with a buncha [stuff] from a previous band I was in.

Happy 81st birthday Ringo.

Construction started in our alley yesterday for AT&T to install fiber. Don't know when it will be available or what the cost will be.

We'll probably get into that technology loop again - Faster internet then the computer will be too slow so new computer. groan...

Expecting the very people who created this mess to get us out of this mess is why

Opinion poll: Of all of the children conceived in the U.S. each year, what percentage were conceived while listening to Al Green or Barry White?

A. 10%
B. 25%
C. 60%
D. All of them
E. This is stupid. I'm not taking a poll and you can't make me.

/me wonders

Is the scar from that Barry White hickey still visible

They usually offer a promotion to get everyone to switch, they don’t want to maintain the old network any longer than they have to. With the fiber comes a new router to plug the light pipe into. If you have a land line, it goes into the router as well. You mentioned the computer, then there’s the new TV that connects to the router via wi-fi.
