But the courier may have been recording my image for their commercial gain in the event of a claim. In one case I looked up my proof of signature on their site and they had a photograph of the property address. All that proves is that they went to my address. For some reason, google street view blurs out addresses, license plates, and well as people when they record. Maybe there are some legal fine lines.

I hereby do not consent to the use of my image or likeness for any purpose. That's why on TalkBass I appear as Nipper The RCA Dog. The dog that's appeared on more records than anyone else. He's even been on tubes.

Chances are that your image IS being sold without your permission- legally.

Most state BMVs sell driver's license images to data aggregators. The aggregators in turn sell the data to companies that provide facial recognition software as well as other users of the data. Some of the software companies' customers are businesses and some are government. That is one of the ways that government agencies get around restrictions re: sharing data with other agencies.

Also if you closely read the terms and conditions associated with obtaining a free social media account, you'll find that you have granted them practically a free reign to do whatever they want with "content" - even if the content is "private" and only shared with a limited number of people.

A delivery service may indeed be capturing your image. It probably isn't being sold since there are far more efficient and less costly ways to do the same thing.

BTW, a good way of defeating facial recognition software is to wear a covid mask.

... , she pretty much just complained about everything the whole time. We were in a group ... who had all paid a good deal of money for this trip ... clear from the start that she was hell bent on currying favor ... impressing them with her academic credentials. It also became clear that none of the other ... wanted anything to do with her. ... ...

Mrs. Dog and have a good friend we like a lot and have traveled with several times. Unfortunately, his wife is The Know-It-All from hell and drives people away with constant yakking of totally unsolicited advice! Technically, she IS educated, PHD-wise, but what she knows about social skills wouldn't fill a shot glass (though that is a good way to almost tolerate her). Fortunately, Mrs. Dog and I have figured out how to A) change the subject when she gets way too annoying, and 2) make plans we know she won't be interested in so we can go have actual fun! After all, she's his problem, not ours.

My drivers license image barely resembles me. With all the vision assist capabilities available today, I find it odd that image acquisition is still left to someone pointing a camera at you and asking you to say cheese. Technology is capable of doing a way better job. Cameras are capable of much more when photographing. There's a lot of potential in the future.

The facial recognition software that logs me into my computer is very impressive. 30,000 IR pinpoins identify me in a fraction of a second.

They claim that the master copy of my face metrics is only on the device and not download anywhere. That's their story anyway.

Since the computer is manufactured in China, they may have inserted spyware in the hardware so they could have a copy.

You are everywhere!

I operate on the principle that most all of my electronic comms can be observed and used by someone. Whether my kit and service providers are 'Murican or not. Free services gotta be paid for somehow.:bag:

... a bit, yes. Expect they are related to chanterelles, or maybe even are chanterelle clusters. Forgot what she told me they are. Normally I'll finish off a mushroom like that in the sauce pan with vermouth. Had none, and used mirin. Considered making a proper sauce, and passed. I approve of mushroom hunters

They say to pair with lemon. That could overwhelm it I think.

Hello! Anyone awake at this god awful hour?

Full day today with the Mrs out of town. Was going to ride the scooter early but at 8am it was already 80*. That's not too bad except the humility was pretty high, so no ride. Took the Corvette to the coffee shop. Thought about top down, but no. The owner stopped making donuts and cinnamon rolls and now has some sort of specialty pastries. She said donuts weren't selling. Probably another victim of covid. Bummers. Cinnamon roll with cappuccino is the bomb. I had a caramel pecan danish something or other. It was pretty good. She makes a thing called a Croffle - combination of croissant and waffle. Should have called it waffisant. I'll try one the next time.

After that, did weedeatery and mowed the grass. Surprised it wasn't like baling hay with the rain last week and being out of town. Showered then burned up bits on the internet for a while. Had lunch of a bologna/pepper jack sammich and BBQ tater chips. Went to the groc store for staples like beer, wine, and cheese. The Kroger has a pick six for beer - Peroni, Spaten Oktoberfest, Voodoo Ranger IPA. Drank a Peroni. Made another batch of secret recipe salsa. Watched some TV. Watched a documentary on "Dark Side of the Moon". Listened to DSOTM. Then listened to Yes "Fragile" on Dolby 5.1. Various whiskies were involved as well.

It might be about time to go to bed. lol.
