Yep, I'll even welcome the unpleasant side effects at that point, if it sends the pain away. That can be caused by the pancreatitis, as well, so it's hard to separate out which emesis is caused by what, and you don't really care at that point, anyhow.

What I find with morphine is, it doesn't make the pain go away but it sends me to a place where that doesn't matter.

I've had 7 bouts with kidney stones. Three of them required surgery. Simply put, kidney stones are the most painful thing I have ever experienced.

You should have worked for one of my ex-bosses.

I have never had a kidney stone, nor a child, so can't relate to those pains directly. I have had two bouts with pain that were stellar; one when my eardrum got infected and the other with pancreatitis.

The eardrum pain was unbelievably horrid and felt like someone had pierced the inside of my ear with a white-hot fire iron. Multiple rounds of Advil while waiting for my doctor's office to open didn't touch it until I had so much advil in me I probably am lucky to have a liver left.

Pancreatitis pain is supposedly up there in the top ten list of pains, with kidney stones and childbirth and everything else. The pain comes when your pancreas starts releasing digestive enzymes into your abdominal cavity due to inflammation and you begin to attempt to digest all the organs immediately adjacent to it, along with the pancreas itself. As you can imagine, this is pretty excruciating. Morphine is your best friend in these moments.

Everything is good in Vicodin Land. Knocks the pain down a little but it's mostly that you don't care.

We have both been there - Wife for a pretty long time with back pain and me for a short period with knee surgery.

I've used a MarkBass F500, Genz Benz 900 Streamliner, Demeter VTBP-M-800D, and a Jule Monique M700. I also tried my MusicMan HD130 but that didn't work well. Not enough power and, as I was told, not enough damping control.

RIP Charlie Watts! Aside from seeing the Stones 3 times (66, 72, and 89) I saw Charlie's big band "Rocket 88" tour in the early nineties at "The Bayou" in DC. Got to exchange a few pleasantries with him as I was sitting in the balcony near the dressing room. I'm a big Stones fan and he will be missed.

Being within arm's reach when someone says something directly to you (like "I can't see any reason to go on," e.g.) is a much bigger difference than being a hundred yards away and out of earshot. At that distance, you're just a spectator, regardless. Might as well do your job.
