Probably "The Weight" w/Duane Allman on slide guitar. I grew up hearing all the big hit ones on the radio as they were released too though, loved 'em all then and still do now.

Same here. WNBC and WABC in NY during my summers and on all the top stations in DC the rest of the year. I would lay on the floor in front of the Zenith console stereo (it was more furniture than electronics) and do my homework. The radio was a big deal in my younger days. Today I enjoy the SiriusXM stations that do the 50's, 60's, and 70's rock. It's fun to hear Cousin Brucie again.

Cool. I had a little transistor job that went to bed with me every night and WABC came in pretty well out in SE CT, right on Long Island Sound.

I actually think it was WABC's reach that gave them an edge over everyone else - that and their DJ's like Ron Lundy, Dan Ingram, and all the rest!
Anybody listen to John R out of Rodchester, NY? We always tuned him in coming home from out of town gigs.

where if I get goosy when I hear something
then it's rather special.
Aretha didn't get me goosy - that glorious woman gave me shivers and when she
soars up I get actual chills.

Back to the late Miss Franklin...
This morning I met four F-18 pilots and they invited me to breakfast. They were on their way back from Anchorage doing an exercise. They were tne nicest guys and were very respectful when they found out I'm a vet. It was such a pleasure talking to them.
After having breakfast we watched them from a distance, couldn't be inside the gate. They told us this was the 2017 Super Hornet and the inside was so advanced you had to have a current clearance to even look inside! Here's the video. This was an exciting day for me!

One of my favorites by Aretha is the Stevie Wonder tune"Until You Come Back to Me". It features the holy trinity of rhythm sections: Chuck Rainey, Bernard Purdie, and Cornell Dupree. A master class in bass playing with the cherry on top of Aretha's incredible performance.

The A-4 patch the LT on the left caught my eye.
Whoooooa what? A-4D's were all upgraded to E's by the 80's AFAIK. There must be a back story. You can see the dates on the patch, 56-68. Maybe his dad flew them.
Here is a funny aside. I've been watching video documentaries of Aretha and especially her early days with Atlantic records and Jerry Wexler. It reminded me of a funny incident from my past.
Back in the late sixties and early seventies I was struggling as a bass player to nail tunes like "Respect " and all the Wilson Picket stuff. I was a serious student of the instrument trying my best to get the feel and the groove. I started to think that my problem was THAT I WAS A WHITE MAN. I expressed my concern to my friend who was also a drummer and my apartment mate who is black. He laughingly pointed out that the Muscle Shoals rhythm section was a bunch of. white "southern gentlemen". Who, I had stupidly assumed..... Talk about racial stereotyping both ways. He then continued the lesson with facts about Stax and Motown personnel.
I NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Ah, perhaps a memorabilia patch. They flew A-4's to as late as 67 VFA-113 - Wikipedia
The wiki might be off a bit and the offical NAVAIR page gave me a network error. They are certainly VFA-113. (VFA stands for "Kiss your ass goodbye").
From the wiki, they made NAVAIR history:
"On 17 February 2016, the final F/A-18C departed VFA-113's flightline and was transferred to NAS Oceana, Virginia. Since then, the squadron has transitioned to the Invalid Link Removed. As the last Navy F/A-18C squadron on the west coast to transition to the Super Hornet, that last flight happened to be the last operational legacy Hornet flight ever for NAS Lemoore."

Stax is my go to for (so called) black (popular) music of the era, but also dig motown. I'm more into the era than a particular label or genre.
I may be confusing names, and really don't want to make any sort of allegations or misinformation about racism. Was Muscle Shoals a racist?
That tall pilot looks like he wouldn’t have a lot of headroom.
