That cat has already left the barn. Likewise shopping passwords. Explains the gross of canned tuna we just received.

Amazon drones incoming. Doom, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Bwah ha ha. Yesterday I decided to revisit my scary 90s rack guitar rig and ended up playing some even scarier 80s Hair Metal riffs for a solid two hours. Because nothing says raWk like a 15/6/1 cab with a big old horn tweeter, right? But oddly enough, I was getting some of the best guitar sounds ever and I greatly preferred that rig to the old school Fender 2x10 tube combo I sold off a few years ago. For clean headroom in a tube format I basically need a Twin Reverb, or forget it.

And so that rabbit hole lead to some Google-Fu, and up pops a service manual for my Boss GX-700. And even with all the proprietary Roland DSP happiness in there, it turns out that the OD section is analog and easily hackable. And it uses nice FETs where that makes sense, and I can hack this those sections as well. I feel compelled to book a Passing Wind gig and haul out all this carp while I still can. Pointy guitars need love too, after all.

Was this the site?

Some ~80’s stuff is still very usable, not cheesy. My Yamaha / Alesis / Eventide gear is.

Yeah, I think so. It'd been quite while since the last time I looked for anything to do with that unit, and I was surprised to see it there. The fact that it's actually something I can work on is a definite bonus.

For sure. This was probably built right around 2000, but the same thing still holds. Most of the presets are pretty awful though. But in any case, I'm now glad I didn't just give it away, which could easily have happened.

Never give a cat your TB password. Who knows what confrontational material they might post.

Hoary old tale

In the days of USENET, a rule evolved that stemmed from an incident that went roughly like: when I read your post I laughed so hard I scared my cat, and the cat made me spill my coffee. You owe me a new keyboard for not posting a Cats and Coffee Warning in the subject field.

They're easy to spot because they're always catfighting in threads about tort.

Once heard about "you can't be pro without [What I use]" threads in a parallel world.

In those days a keyboard cost $40
I blew out the motherboard on a Dell and I think that was around a grand.
