Gettin a Rick

Ok, in a couple of days I should have this. It was made in 1997. The seller had sold a black one that was listed on the web,but advised that he had this was and it's in better shape. I really am digging it! I've always wanted a fireglow Rick.

Wish me luck!

I should have clarified. I'm driving to pick this up. The seller is only an hour and a half away. I should be picking it up Thursday if my work schedule allows.

As for UPS...I hear ya. I always have my guitars and classic combo organs shipped Fed Ex. Otherwise, If I can drive to get it, even better.

hank, thats a terrible thought to put on a man at such a momentous time! Luckily for all involved shipping is not an issue on this one. In that case, good luck on the return trip after picking it up. It'll still be there when you get home, so focus on the road and try to forget about it while you are driving.

Congrats OP on getting your Ric, or about to. Hope its everything you are expecting. Yea, Rics are very individual basses. I took the Ric plunge a few months ago and it was a match made in heaven in my case. I took the plunge cold, never played one, never touched that one before I bought it (and some here tried to advise me not too. I had no choice in the matter). Thankfully the seller had one of my old basses and knew what I liked neck wise and matched me up with my Ric so perfect its just freaky. LOL

Heres hoping that fireglo fits you like a glove! Enjoy it!

Congrats!! Nice looking Ric. I briefly owned a '99 Fireglo, but I wasn't ready to start-up the whole playing the bass thing at that point. A few years later, i got my '06 Jetglo, and it's been game on ever since. Nothing else looks, feels or sounds like a Ric, all the best to you.

Thanks alot for the support you guys! I'm very excited. I go pick it up tomorrow afternoon. You know I only just got into bass a couple of months ago. I've always played something. I've played sax for 24 years and have played keyboards for the last 6. The bass has grabbed me like no other instrument before and I find myself going after gear that I've wanted for years and years. It may sound like alot too much bass for someone that is just learning, but it's so much for for me.
When I got my Hofner and started playing I thought....why didn't I start this years ago...... There's no turning back now!!:bassist:

Going for a macca vibe are we? Hey, if you get the bug, might as well go all in. Although you are gonna need a JG and MG to go with it now. Trust me on this, the more you love the Ric finish you have, the more you want one of the other ones

Don't tell me that. lol My wife is already starting to look at me everytime I reach for my wallet.

Yeah, I'm a big Beatle fan...well a fan of all music really, but the Macca bug bit me and now I'm just runnin' wild!

That's awesome Whitespike! 13 years says something. These basses are special!
